a question mainly for the older members i think...
Not that i dont think younger members are capable of understanding or helping, just that the older members may have some more life experience applicable here :)
I hope I dont break any rules with my discussion, i read them over and i dont think this applies. im just wondering what other people's thoughts are on this situation. The whole thing is done and over with now, but im just wanting opinions, thats all :) so this happened with a friend last night. heres the details:
A few of us got a couple hotel rooms at a friends work, we'll call her sally. she gets discounts on the rooms and at the restaurant, so we decided to have our halloween pre/post party there (we went out for a couple hours for some dancing). sally had met a guy a few days ago just waiting for the bus. they started talking about kids, because he had his child and she was looking after a friends child. They exchanged numbers and were talking for a couple days, and she invited him to come out to the party with us. he came to the hotel before we went out to a club and he came back with us later because he had left some things at the hotel that he needed to pick up before going home. I heard from the other girls that he was just acting kind of weird at the end of the night, like he didnt really want to leave the hotel and go home. so my friends were able to "get rid of him" and send him on his way.
a couple hours later, I was sitting on the one bed with one of the other girls watching tv lets call her jane. (sally was in another room at a party hosted by one of her coworkers at the hotel) so jane finds this thing in the bed. she asked what it was and i took a look. It was a pill in a capsule and it had a plastic sleeve cover thing over it too. It was unmarked. we asked everyone in the room if it was theirs or if they knew what it was and no one knew. so we assumed that it was probably belonging to the guy that had left, because he, at one point, had been laying down across the bed. then my paranoid self immediately thought that perhaps it was something that he had intended to slip into sally's drink at some point. because it was a white powder in the capsule. the capsule was clear and had no markings on it, and i know that you can buy just the capsules to make your own drugs. So jane and i took it downstairs to security to see what they thought. they said that they thought there was a possibility that it could have been a date rape drug. we went right to the other room that sally was in and talked to her about it and made sure that she was ok and that she felt ok, and she was perfectly fine. thank goodness.
i just wanted to know what other people's thoughts about this were. and if anyone else has had any sort of similar experience that they could talk about to maybe compare details so i can get a better idea of the whole situation. thank you!

In my experience (not that I go around drugging/raping people), the drugs used for date-rape are rarely homemade in pill form. Rohypnol used to be the #1 drug used. Rufis. Those are pills. But not homemade. Now GHB is the drug of choice. This has got to be much easier. It's a clear liquid that is mixed in with a girl's strong alcoholic drink. It has to be a strong alcoholic drink because GHB tastes like gasoline, and most people would notice that added to their orange juice. This clear pill you found could have been as simple as a vitamin, but you can't be sure, so you were right to be suspicious. Maybe that man had terrible things planned that night and you guys got off really lucky. I don't know. Be careful. The world is full of sickos!! Scary.

I had something like that happen to my friend last year at her birthday party. She holds a huge blow out party for her birthday every year, and one of her boyfriend's buddies came that she didn't know. She got really close to him, mostly because she was completely drunk. One of her other friends found a capsule with white powder in his coat pocket. She thought it was just something he got high off of though. The capsule she found sounds a lot like the one you found. The guy at her party didn't act weird at all though, and left early. Who knows these days, it could be anything.

I think you made the correct response. the whole situation was that the guy had drugs,or something and should not have even been at the party. I really hope you and your friends through him out and vetoed any kind of relationship with him!!

Hm... I would say that if he wanted to meet her again,
Then they should go somewhere that he can't spike her drinks,
Or maybe have a big group of you go or something.
If he tries anything, i'd go straight to the police :/
But that's just my opinion, it might just be nothing :)

There are pills that are kinda blood where you can just put them on water and it has almost the same taste as blood,but not the same.I think in my country there aren't such pills,but I have a friend in U.S.A and she told me that there are some...I don't really believe it

yea i was concerned because i know with these capsules, you could easily just pull the capsule apart and put the powder in the drink. i've seen that done on different types of shows/movies where they're depicting a date rape scenario, so i got very suspicious. here, i just found this little blurb about GHB and i thought i would post it up here:
"GHB is consumed orally in capsule form or as a grainy, white to sandy-colored powder. Powdered GHB is often dissolved in liquids like water or alcoholic beverages and then consumed. However, it is most frequently sold as a slightly salty, clear liquid in small bottles where users pay by the capful or by the teaspoon. It could have been a date rape, but the possibilities can be numerous. It was a good idea to bring it to securities. You should have brought it to the securities secretly though. You could have observed if anyone was searching for something and you could have noticed who it belonged too. No one does tell if something does not go to plan. For instance, lets say it did not belong to the man who left. What if it was a set up to frame the guy? Who knows really.
However, you all seemed had fun at the end except for the fright.

we did have a really fun night with the exception of this :) im really glad that it didnt become something more, something really bad. i guess he'd been acting kind of strange all night. she still wants to talk to me about him i think. but it would have been ok in the long run regardless because the guys that she works with are really great guys, and they're pretty close, so they would have taken good care of her if it was needed :)

Those things are horrible things! Damn this world for making them! My mother had that happen to her. It was a nice long story, but anyways, it was awful! I hate those things! I hope that Sally is okay. Now, the entire night, was there someone even in the room?
