My fiance's parentals are pentacostal and her mom is nuts. But i've been trying to find anything in the christian bible that can help me to prove that it isn't a "sin" to be wiccan. I'm just worried about her mom forcing her to stay away from me. The ironic part is her mom forces her to go to chruch but she's been agnostic for 2 years. Anyway i could use some help, i don't care about your religious affiliation i just need some help in building my logic army against a war of words w/ her mom...

Please don't comment on the rightness or wrongness of either religon just helpful comments please!!!!

Try going to Wiccan Together, a wiccan community with a similar format to this fairevampire.com.
If you put up the same message, you'll get all kinds of helpful logic. Plus, there are articles and such already posted that might help in your religious defense. Just remember this is the US. You do have the right to your own religion.

i learned long ago, that religious fanatics cannot be reasoned with. so i dont even bother trying anymore. i refuse to bend over backwards for people who choose to not accept me as i am without judgement. magic is older than the bible. tell them that. or heres one that i like to say...
"if you take the bible and put it against the wind, and the rain, flame and earth, the pages would disintegrate and the words would be gone. my bible *IS* the wind, the rain, flame and earth."
and Brandon, I love the picture in your avatar. i've wanted to get it as a tattoo for years...lol :D

i was having the same problem trying to explain it to my sister who is joining the mormon religion she was talking to me one day asing me waht i was doing and i told her that i had found my path with the wiccan religion. well to make along story short at the same time she and her boyfriend were also talking to the elders and she brought up what i was doing and right of the bat the said i was becoming a devil worshiper. no matter how u try to explain it u r always going to be judged. but good luck with you fiance and her parents. and sarah i love how u put that im going to have to remeber that

I'm Wiccan, my parents are kinda like that. Dad sides with mum to calm her down and diffuse the situation and the arguments we end up in. Mum doesn't understand, and is insiting I go to church like a good little girl. I love it now that I'm at uni she can't try to rule my life and I can learn about wicca all I want without having to be careful. So much easier now. As for your fiances parents I've learn't you can't change a persons beliefs or try to make them see your point of view. Its best to try and not bring it up, also her mum can't really stop her from seeing you. Anyway thats my opinion.

You could try using the central truths which apply to all religions. 1, There is absolute godhead. 2, there is creative duality. 3, There are archetypes. 4, There is the here and now. The power flows from absolute divinity through the corresponding levels of conciousness into reality for everyone and no matter your beliefs this is how it works. Yes even for us Wiccans lol

Incidentally you won't find anything in the bible that says it isn't a sin to be wiccan because they really do believe in all that hellfire and damnation crap they've been fed.

My best advice would be to try to avoid confrontation and be as the wind. Gently pervasive. Show you care. Show you are a nice person. Spread your love and light in a way that doesn't offend her and lastly don't make a big thing of being a wiccan. The more you push it the harder she'll dig her heels in. Don't be confrontational about it but be firm in assuring her that you are a, a nice guy, and b, you love her daughter and want to give her the best life you're able to. Win the heart and the mind will follow

Best of luck to you.

Raithe

Try to bring up the main beliefs about Wicca; how there is no evil, that we do not worship the devil and how we connect in harmony and peace with nature. Print out pages from websites and get books to back up your claim.
