Beauty

I am tired of this... Though I am a child, I understand much.(Perhaps it is because I am an old soul in a child's body.) The thing that annoys me is "beauty." Beauty, in my opinion cannot exist. It is only an opinion. I'm tired of those who do not care about inner beauty, and focus only on looks. By all means, I am not "hot".

Beauty is only an opinion once again. Let me show an example. This girl/guy(depending on your gender) walks by, and to you, they are the most hideous thing you have ever seen. Your friend however, falls completely in love, and follows them around. See what I mean kiddies?

I find that many only judge on first glance and looks. So many are so prejudiced to even not consider one's personality. I find this more common in women. Some compete to be the "hottest" one of the group. What's so important about being beautiful? Most mortals will just die and rot.

No, you cannot rid yourself of this. There will always be prejudiced people in this world. But when choosing friends, talk to the person first. Hey, who knows? Maybe that "geek" next door would be your best friend for life.

Well even if it is an opinion, it still exists in everyone, because everyone has an opinion as to what they think is beautiful and what is not..therefore it does exist.makes sense?

More common in women? heh strange, I find it more common in men, to be honest. Less women go to strip clubs, for example. "Men Go To Strip Clubs - Women Read Romance Novels"(not my words, but I thought I would share it any way). But let us not get into genders and such, as a generalization, people are judgemental by nature, in my opinion. People evaluate other people in order to detect danger, or attraction, ect.. At first glance, all you have to judge a person by is their appearance. You do not get sudden flashes on that person's life and an in-depth back-stage-pass to their heart, souls and minds, so you cannot know the personality of a person until you have talked to them, but when you see them, all you have to judge them by is their looks. Half the problem here comes from the fact that the drive to reproduce is second only to the drive to survive. It only takes five seconds to decide, on a physical level, if one fancies another. There's more to that than just physical appearance though. Many factors come into play not least of which is the olfactory sense. Add to that the fact that we are daily inundated by the media with their idea of the perfect body and it's no wonder the old values are being forgotten.; ▶ Reply to This
