Beauty

I am tired of this... Though I am a child, I understand much.(Perhaps it is because I am an old soul in a child's body.) The thing that annoys me is "beauty." Beauty, in my opinion cannot exist. It is only an opinion. I'm tired of those who do not care about inner beauty, and focus only on looks. By all means, I am not "hot".

Beauty is only an opinion once again. Let me show an example. This girl/guy(depending on your gender) walks by, and to you, they are the most hideous thing you have ever seen. Your friend however, falls completely in love, and follows them around. See what I mean kiddies?

I find that many only judge on first glance and looks. So many are so prejudiced to even not consider one's personality. I find this more common in women. Some compete to be the "hottest" one of the group. What's so important about being beautiful? Most mortals will just die and rot.

No, you cannot rid yourself of this. There will always be prejudiced people in this world. But when choosing friends, talk to the person first. Hey, who knows? Maybe that "geek" next door would be your best friend for life.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm better off single, not wasting my time fooling around with imbeciles who will attempt to use me, then discard me like trash when things aren't going the way they want, or someone with a nicer ass shows up.

People care to much about making themselves look better and finding their next two to three week 'lover', because they care so much about whats on the outside... whats on the inside can shrivel up and die...

I'll give you an example... you know the girls at high school... the ones with the big hair and lots of lip gloss? Mind you some of them can be nice.... most of them are not... -smirks- most would rather try to embarrass you or something then compliment you... They are also quick to turn on their own friends if it means they are going to get in trouble.... These types of people are very ugly on the inside..

Now an example of someone who is.. prettier on the inside... In high school did you ever drop something? papers? a pencil? maybe your whole binder or back pack? Have you ever noticed who is the first person to ever come to your help immediately...? not waiting a few seconds laughing... I mean they are right there helping you as soon as they see your in trouble.

Mind you there can be people who are pretty on the inside and out... but sometimes... the outside dwarfs the inside... and that beauty starts to slowly die...

If people don't like me the way I am then I don't want them to be my friends. I don't want people to think I am beautiful and hot, but I want them to think I am special and that they want to know me becouse they see I am different and special and they want to be my friends and not becouse I am hot and they just want to get in my pants or becouse my friend is a realy beautiful hot babe so they just use me to getto her. i agree that beauty is only an opinion and that most of our culture is based on it. i do contradict myself though because there is this werewolf that i see every saturday and sometimes other times, and i think he is an extremely likable man but i first fell in love with him when i saw him almost a year ago. i am (understatedly) ugly, so i do beleive that he does not enjoy my company as i do his.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by jama on July 4, 2009 at 7:43pm: well, as a female, i paint my nails and brush my hair so I FEEL beautiful, not so i look beautiful. i know that when i look in the mirror and see pretty rather then ugly, it boosts my confidence. thats probably why women try so hard to be gorgeous. as for beauty, what some see as amazing, others see as awful, for instance ,one man hates hockey but loves golf, the other hates golf but loves hockey...people's diffrences in taste extend beyond other people and into every day life. if two men can have such diffrent opinions on sports, is it not acceptable to say that there tastes in women would be equally as diverse?
