GROWN WOMEN! losing it over the teenage characters in the books/movies. good lord..lol theres a picture floating around the net that has a couple of very excited looking women holding a sign that says "twilight moms". *facepalm* its just a little on the creepy side.
Permalink Reply by Alice Jones on November 28, 2011 at 7:28am How do you feel about twilight influencing people in other ways, for example, the vampire subculture - the group of people who are starting to believe that they are actually creatures such as wolfs and vampires?
Permalink Reply by dormant lullaby on November 29, 2011 at 6:28pm When you can see people, even grown adults, CRYING over the trailers and movies... yes. Yes I do think it influences people's behaviors.
Permalink Reply by Khallie IndieRockSnob on January 2, 2012 at 1:37am Yeah, they do affect peeps but not in a good way. I did research for a project called "Do Romance Novels Affect Readers Today?" and I came across this blog post written by this guy who said his wife acted crazy after reading Twilight. He said she wouldnt have s** with him until Bella had s** with Edward in the book and more crazy crap.. (I think its funny how these people take these books so personally) You should check out www.mylifeistwilight.com.
Permalink Reply by Lennie Egotristis on January 24, 2012 at 8:29am yes it does. i read the books and well, dreamt of meeting a vampire for AGES. but luckily i snapped out of it. i am really lucky. some of my friends still run around hoping to meet a vampire. i cant convince them not to either.
Yes it does. I happen to suffer from the mad fanatasim too. Partly because I look like the older version of Taylor L. But yes it seriously does influence their behaviour. For christ sake it's only a movie. The girls out there need to keep dreaming, because it's never gonna happen (them getting with either of the guys). As for the fads and fakes that appear A LOT, well in the end their little games are shattered when reality p***** down on them. Cosplaying I can somewhat understand but when you see how far ppl go it's incomprehensible. I mean why get a tattoo for twilight done on ur own body. Pardon me but it's a bit OTT (over the top). I could rant all day but I'd get bored of reading let alone typing it up. But yes look at what a lot of guys are doing too. They're tryna style out like Jacob/Edward just to compete with the girly dreams. Sadly ladies it's all a dream so wake up and smell the reality of life.
usually films like these (fantasy or sci-fi films/book/tv shows) tend to influence how people think about things, so definatly. watching films like these over and over cant ulter how you think about other people, so (for example) after watching twilight and seeing that vampires tend to be fast and paled creatures, you could then start to think one of your friends who is pale and is a rather fast runner, think of them as a possible vampire.
