Fire & Ice Will burn together.

A group of witches set up lots of blue candles, encirlcing a good vampire friend of mine and they also encircled him, dressed in red robs and chanting something in latin I think. All that we could understand was is:

"fire and ice will burn togther"

we freed him but can anyone tell me wat they were doing and wat that means?Please no rude comments, only ppl that really can help me. Thanks and blessed be.
