Hey everyone :)
I just watched something on the Discovery channel called "The Devil's Bible" or pretty much The Codex Gigas. *The Big Book* Lol.

It's pretty much a book that has every remedy in it, along with a very LARGE descripition of the devil in it. It also just talks about what it calls "Cojurations" which pertain something similarly close to "Exorcisms" The book itself is really interesting. It is over 800 years old, handwritten and has VERY beautiful colligraphy. It was also written by ONE person. It is over 100 something lbs. O.O
So yeah, it is a lot of pages. There is a reason why it is called a "Big Book" in latin, lol.

Pretty much it just contains The Whole Bible, apart from Acts and Revelations, Historical facts, from the 1200's and back,A large pic. of the devil, green and horned, etc. really cool :), Conjurations to help sick people, etc. *The basis of most high magick there* and a LOOOTT of other things. It's really cool. The only page that is actually really destroyed is the Devil picture, and it's only really shady looking, that's it. Otherwise it's survived 800 years, and it is almost perfect condition. Spooky hmm?

So anyways, has anyone heard about the Devil's Bible *Not the satanic one dummy lol* and what are your personal opinions on it?

Well, the reason I asked was because I genuinely DIDN'T know how they spoke.

Lol, but if you think about it, yes they had their own cultural way of talking, but they did not use the Thee's and Thou's that the bible did. The reason why it was like that, is because of king James. It is really one of the worst translations to use, since he pretty much put things in his and the church's own perspective. BUT, they probably did have a certain way of talking, like we do. It's the Dialect, but they didn't use very elaborate ways of putting things together, unless they were like.. extremely high up, even then it wasn't THAT hard to figure out. Lol, oh well.

So did I genuinely answer your question, or do you have something else that you'd like to ask about the way that they spoke?
But to be honest, that is an opinion. I'm not certified in the Jewish language or history so I wouldn't know, but I do have a very strong thought that they didn't use Thee's and Thou's especially since the bible that I have pretty much translates directly from ancient hebrew..lol

Some of the Bible is also in Aramaic.

It's pointless to compare how people spoke in historic or ancient times to how people speak now since language evolves generationally and to varying degrees in different parts of the same country.

Just my 2 pennies as I pass thru... lol

2 penises?
O_o

I don't know, I find it somewhat hard to believe that they spoke very similarly to the way we do today (minus the slang), mostly because, as True said, language does evolve over time. And that was quite a bit ago. Although there is no doubt in my mind that the translations erred. Wouldn't you love to get your hands on the original Bible?
I have my hands on the original TRANSLATED bible..and what I mean by that is that I have all the books of the bible, just not in the same book, lmao. I love Barnes and Noble :)
I has all the books of the bible, including the books of Jesus and Mary
These were the ones that were taken out. So yeah, all of them are in there. Makes a lot more sense :)
Of course, I also have the Torah and Koran*I'm not spelling it the Q way.. because I really don't know how hahaha*
So I like to study different religions. They are fun to learn.
I think the translated full bible cost around 20-30 dollars.

If you just want the books of the bible that AREN'T there... you need to look for the Lost Books of the Bible
It's a really good book. OR "Lost Scriptures" by Bart Ehrman... those are great.

I, too, like to study different religions. They are extremely interesting in their secrets and similarities.

I read about it, but haven't found it much interesting for me to read about. Its still a religion and I respect all of it.

im reading now about it. Most religions have alot of things in common. its funny how the usa use religion to up the american nation like you hear it when you make a pledge to the flag of america. :S i never pledged anything on the america flag cause its against my religion.
