To tell the truth I am a bit tired of hearing vampires are "better", "faster", etc.
So I have decided to gather up info on vampire slayers and the enemies of "Evil."
Evil is not an entity you can become. Evil is the action and course you take.
Here is a small brief info on the adversaries of the unnatural:
Batak: The Batak of Java are witch-doctors who hunt the Pontianak, a particular vicious vampire. The Batak can actually reclaim the souls of those lost to vampirism.
Benandanti: Good-natured-werewolves from Italian Legend who enters a dream-state and descend into Hell to do battle with the forces of darkness known as "good-walkers." The Benandanti legend lingers even today.
Dhampyr: The semi-human offspring of a vampier and human parents found throughout the Gypsy culture. The Dhampyr (for female it is referred as Dhampyressa) has a tragically short life span but while at the peak of its strength has vast psychic powers and can detect and destroy vampires.
Djadadjii: A Bulgarian monk who specializes in the fighting vampires that take the form of pernicious poltergeists.
Kishimo-Jin: Japanese Buddhist patron goddess of little children who protects them from evil.
Machi: Wise women from the Mapuche Indian culture of South America who use animal familiars as allies in their ongoing battle against a species of vulture-headed witch-vampires called the Chonchon.
Sabbatarian and the Fetch Dog: A Sabbatarian is a person born on a Saturday who has the power to cure illness as well as detect and defeat supernatural creatures such as vampires. The Sabbatarian is often accompanied by a Fetch Dog, a spirit that acts like a supernatural hunting hound.
Stregoni Benefici: In Italy a vampire who repects of his evil ways and preforms great acts of contrition and is officially forgiven by the church and thereafter becomes a monster-hunting weapon of righteousness.
