I feel like I must put my opinion about something up..
Lately everyday I see about 2 or more posts asking "what am I" Many people do not realize that there are VERY few otherkin in the world, maybe a few hundred thousand, at best. Yes, that does sound like a lot, but compared to the billions of people there are in the world, there are not many otherkin. However, I see MANY people on here asking what that they might be. Yes, I know of a few people who are what they say that they are, but there are some that are not even anything, but a human, *There is nothing wrong with being a human, let me get my point across first*
There are many discussions where I see the person is a human, but I see others telling them they are a vampire, therian, angel, or something else. No, most people on this site, are either A-A roleplayer. B- Actually what they claim to be C-Confused. It is hard enough already to live in the world, but when you find out that you are an otherkin, it becomes even harder. I will talk more on this in a minute.
So many people on here are humans, with either a blood lust, or other problems, such as diabetes, anemia, etc. etc. ALTHOUGH, when you tell them they are human, or something that they do not want to be, they ignore you, or try to prove you wrong. I do not get this. Why put the discussion up if you're not willing for a honest to goodness answer? I just want people to think about that. I don't want people to stop putting disucssions up because of that *Of course, who would listen to me?* I'm just saying, please do not argue with the people that are actually trying to be nice, and help you. Although, please take everything that we say with a grain of salt as well, *Yes, I'm aware that was completely contradictory* You're in control of your own body, and we are mearly guides to help you understand, and point you in the right direction.You alone can tell if you are an otherkin or not. Even some otherkin can stop their awakenings, it is mearly the soul connecting with the human body, and changing it to what it should look like, it is the exposure of the soul to the body that actually makes it change, and it is very painful.

I know you have probably been asked this before, but why would you want to be one of us? Most of you have read twilight, and want to be a vampire. Let me tell you, Twilight, Anne Rice, etc. etc Are not real, and hold no real truth, although some might have some similarities, they are not true. Being a vampire will not help your life, at all. It will only complicate it more. It will make you even more of an outsider, it will pretty much make you not want to be alive. Along with the pain of changing, it is just not the best thing to do, in any situation. Believe me. I used to be one of the people who wanted nothing more to be a vampire, I am now awakening ..and I have to suffer through mood swings, bodily pain, along with demented thoughts, and I've hurt some good friends of mine, let alone manipulating them just to get into a fight, or get money out of them, and the list goes on. Why would you want to hurt your family, or anything just to be something that you think will make your life better? Just because you've assumed it to be true, does NOT make it true in the least. Like I said, it will complicate your life more, and I would advise against it. What good would it do if you were in pain, or wanting to hurt your friends or family to live? Why would you want to have that burdon on you? Please tell me? Or just because you think it is cool?
For those who have said that they have thought about it, and said that it is the best thing, then you are mistaken. Nothing is good about this, it is better to be a human. Humans are powerful in their own right, humans are special and they do not even know it. Please, think about this before you ask to be turned. Just because you get some "powers" does that really give you a right to be turned, to give up your family, and old life? Even if things are bad in your life now, they will look up, do not want and come begging us to change you *I can't change you anyway* but it is stupid. Work your own problems out in your life, it is easier, and in time you will think it was stupid, and you will be happier you didn't. Take it from a person who has been in your shoes.

I've put up a "what am i" subject, and i didnt do it because i think i'm something other than human, i dont WISH to be a vampire or anything, i'm just a very spiritual person, and thought it would be a great opportunity to see if i could focus my development. I mean, i just want to be all i can be, and if i'm human, great, i can work with that knowledge, but if i'm not, well, i'll just work with that knowledge instead, and focus my learning around that. I'm very thankful for any help anyone can give me, anything you can tell me that i dont know, as i'm not very aquainted with the subject of otherkin.

Yes, but even if we do read you, what if it is wrong? You can not just rely on us. To find out if you're an otherkin you need to do some soul-searching of your own before you ask anyone's help.
You can be all you can be with or without being human. That makes no difference.
I was not trying to make it sound like the "what am I" subject is bad, I was simply stating my frustration that when you DO try to help people they try to act like you're wrong, or various other possibilities, so that is my point I was getting across. So if you want to work with knowledge, meditate, and read. You don't have to know if you're something or not, because if you are, you will eventually awaken.

I originally wasn't going to ask, but then i read in one of the other forum posts that werewolves awaken between 16 and 21, and then it could be too late. I'm 20, and it just got me a bit worried that i might miss out on some part of myself if i took too long. I only really want a point in the right direction, if you get my drift?
Also, there's so much bull around the internet, and even in book stores, i thought it would be a viable option to ask some of the people here who seem to be honnest and knowledgable.
I can completely understand your frustration, I've only been on here a few days and I get frustrated just reading some of the posts people make! I think its very rude for people to ask for help and then argue when its not what they want to hear. And i don't like rudeness at all.

hehe, all i have to say which has been stated over and over again, is its well written, well thought out, and well worded. It might get to a few people , but eventually this forum will just be covered in a bunch of other forums, like 'who is better, edward or jasper' or something like that, god i know because before during the summer when i actually was a really active person on this site a bit well known (but now that is over thanks to how many people have come to this site and that most of the popular people i knew back then were banned because of a huge misunderstanding that went on this site) When i was on, this wasn't really the problem, the problem then was a bunch of 'vampires' wanting to go and kill all humans, lots of forums, each day, not sure if that still goes on now, as i said, not on as much as i was, but before i spent conuntless hours doing stuff like this trying to figure out the root of the source and all that, it sort of worked once, but well thats old news. aaannnyyywaaayss, I hope you helped some people with this, maybe it will give some people false hope though, but still. For me, i will continue to search, look, and do some soul searching, trying to figure out who i am, and what my essential make up, as a person, though it is slightly confusing and frustrating being a pisces so peoples lives slightly get muddled over in my personality. Now i went on a rant, oh well, enjoy.

I totally agree with you. in the past, there have been times that I have commented on "what am I" threads only to get flamed or totally ignored.
please. if someone gives you a nicely written comment, its at least common courtosy to acknowledge it or thank them.

answers arent always pretty. Just like life isnt always fair.
sure, being a human sucks sometimes... but if you are serious about asking "what am i" then its only fair that you wait to ask until youve done some honest to god searching yourself, as well as seeing past the superficial stuff.
Ive seen way too many people say what essentially is: "omg... i like reading, and shiny stuff, and girly things... do you think im a fairy?." or "omg... i like wearing dark clothes, and i feel alone, and i like blood. i must be a vampire."
ummm no... that stuff makes you a "normal/nerdy/goth/emo" kid.
being "fey" as i like to call it (i group faeries, the folk, vampires, wearwolves, otherkin... ect into one group) isnt all fun and games... in fact... i dont doubt the fact that after some people have changed, they may wish they had their "normal" lives back because turning just makes your life that much harder.
I know I from time to time wish I knew what it was like to be a normal kid... but do I know? no. why? because I have second sight. I have premonitions. I am an empath. Paranormal activity just loves me. I astral travel on a regular basis. they fey are drawn to me.
did i make myself this way? no.
did i ask for this? no.
would i change from what i am? no.
why? because I believe we should all embrace what we are, be it fey or human.
never ask to be something youre not... 1. it makes you who you are. and 2. if you fake it, people see that, and it gets old fast.

Yes, I agree with what you're saying. People think just because of one or two quirks that they have, they are a vampire, fairy, whatever.Then they argue with you. I hate that, but of course, we can't do anything, haha.
They don't know the blessing it is to be "normal" *no one is normal but that is what I put for human, and having a pretty good life ^^* So I just hope that people realize what a burden it is.
Yes, most people can tell if you fake it, because some of your story changes, or some of the things you say seem unreal.. so Oh well, that is why most of the fakes on this site don't have that many otherkin friends, mostly human, or newer people to this site.

i think alot of people have the same oppinion and thank you for venting for all of us.... its hard to prove who you really are over the inter-webs.... so i feel bad for those who are what they say and aint believed...i want to bite those who same what they arent and are beleived...
