The "Franken Anti-Government-Contractor Rape Liability Bill" was a bill to rid government contracts of a clause that is to prevent contracted employees from suing when raped by other employees. 30 Senators voted against this! To quote Jon Stewart from The Daily Show, "If, to protect Haliburton, you have to side against rape victims, you might want to rethink your allegiances."
My god! Why the hell would a government contract have such a clause? It is just begging to allow rape! This came about because there was a woman who was gang rapped, locked up in a crate for several days to keep her from the authorities, and then turned down for suing the company because the fine print in her contract protected the company from her. And 30 senators (all republican) think that it is constitutional to have something like that in a contract? I'm disgusted!
