OK OK, on this site i have seen SOOOO many posers. at first, i thought it was cute for humans to wish to be like us. but now, its getting annoying and pissing me off a little. so let me lay down the facts here and now...
firstly, there is actually no such things as werewolves. is is just a name given to us by the humans. and humans portray us as "savage beasts who roam the earth looking for a human meal! Grrr!..." no, this false. in fact, the whole shape shifting thing, is now a myth. it was very common long ago, but the french nearly drove us to extinction by killing 30.000 of us in the 1520's to the 1600's. now, such a thing is RARE! i believe there might be a handful of lycans out there with this ability, but for hundreds of you on a website for 15 year old wannabe's (no offence) to have this ability? no way. HOWEVER, we do have different types of shifts. but more on that later. its about fifty fifty for those who can minor transform. such as nails into claws, sharpened teeth, eye color change, beast like features etc.
like i said before, a werewolf is just a name given to us by the humans. but most of the time, we like to prefer Lycan. however, this name itself is not correct either. Lycan is like an abbreviation of Lycanthrope. which humans classify as a mental disease where you THINK you transform and go around killing sheep and such. the actual and proper name for us, is wolf therian. a therian is one who has the soul of another animal. and a wolf therian is, you guessed it, a human body with the soul of a wolf. so therefore, all you out there who claim to be half were or wished to be :Turned" not gunna happen. one: to be half were or whatever, you need half a soul. simply not possible. two: you cannot become one of us from being bitten or whatever. granted, there are many witchcraft spells and rituals and one of them may work, but in reality, no. sorry bud.
Now, to those shifts i was talking about before...
Mental Shift- Mental shifts are very diverse, but they are usually the most common that a therianthrope will experience. A mental shift occurs when the waking mind changes from human to a more animistic mentality. Basically, the mind adopts your spirituality's way of thinking. Mental shifts are usually mild and rarely result in aggressive behavior, though mental shifts have been known to occur in times of extreme stress. Mental shifts can be suppressed by the subconscious quite easily, so a voluntary shift requires time a focus, usually occurring through meditation or at random intervals.
Spiritual Shift- These act much like mental shifts, and are even sometimes confused with them. A spiritual shift happens when two spiritualities merge, such as your current human spirit and a past spirituality. Although an organism's spiritual energy is usually compressed into a single entity, therianthropes can experience spiritual shifts quite often because their human plane and animal plane are so close together. These shifts can become quite common in experienced therians, and can sometimes be a nuisance when not wanted.
Dream Shift- Very self explanatory. These occur in the resting mind during dreaming. I hope you understand what dreaming is anyway. These shifts during dreaming can begin during a lucid dream, which is a dream when you are consciously aware that you are dreaming. Lucid dream shifting is wanted by nearly all therians, because it is a chance to become our spiritual being. If a therian like myself was to become aware that they were dreaming, flying would be second on the list of to-dos. Shifting into any spiritual animal is the first thing any therian thinks of. Of course dream shifting is not reality, but it is the closest thing to a real physical shift that many of us can experience.
Astral Shift- This is much like a dream shift, but with much more freedom and possibility. It is very difficult and requires a lengthy amount of time to perfect. Astral Projection is the act of leaving the physical body in the form of your physical body. The astral plane of existence looks much like the physical, but the bodies of the living are not seen, only the spirit. After leaving the physical body, the astral body can take the form of whatever your spirit pleases, and sometimes it will already be in the shape of your phenotype. As I said before, it is very difficult to accomplish a complete astral shift, and traveling in the astral plane is very unstable, and many of my own attempts have ended in me being pulled back to my body before I could leave my bedroom in human form. It is frustrating, and I commend anyone who can accomplish it.
Phantom Shift- This can be a privilege or a major annoyance. Phantom shifting is when characteristics of the phenotype manifest themselves on the body, but are invisible to the living eye. When a limb is severed or amputated, the amputee sometimes swear that their limb feels like it is still there. This is mind using years of muscle memory, and is still sending messages from the severed nerves. Similarly, your phenotype can send messages to your mind for limbs that do not exist. The most common characteristics associated with phantom shifts are fur, ears, and tails. Sitting on a phantom tail for the first time is certainly not pleasant.

lol it would most likely be a bloodbath. however, i know there are some out there that can physically shift. but it just super super rare. like a hay in a needle stack kind of rare

you speak with so much wisdom though? my apologies, just an observation. that is all true, not many sources are reliable. however, i am Lycan. so most of this stuff comes from personal knowledge. then again, if i go around saying I'm a werewolf not very many would believe me. thus one of the many flaws of humans, so close minded. so i guess I'm sort of self contradicting myself, but all i wish is for the truth to be known. if there is another like me out there, attempting to find out about his/herself, i do not want his/her mind clouded by these posers. i really do wish i could meet more of my kind though. If you wish, i could answer all your questions about us if you want to pursue this knowledge. and lycan/werewolf/whatever is pretty much all i know. i do not know much about vamps or fairies or otherkin. but my offer still remains. i wish to educate all those who are willing about us

but now i get it. lol and that is actually a great method in finding out things. i applaud you. SO! let the questions commence! what do you wish to learn? oh and also, if its easier, most of us prefer to be called Lycans. so you can go with that

I have to point out, though it seems rather rude, that being closed minded is a flaw of everything that can think for itself. I may just be defending my own kind (yay humans) but it is my experience that if one can think and know they are thinking then ideas tend to stick.

well, here is the thing. this is the majority of humans, not all. so please do not get offended. individually, humans are intelligent and capable of many things. but in a large group? they are retarded. in a group, they panic. they assume the worst, they fear, they fight, even against one another. they cannot listen to reason, and become overflowed with X-amount of emotions. they need guidance, they need help, they need this and that and all sorts of things. it is true, humans are built with a hole in their heart. thus feeling the desire to fill it with anything and everything they can get their hands on. and even that is not enough. they have money, they want more. they have a boat, they want a yacht. they have a big house, they want a mansion. they have a car, they want two. they have two cars, they want three. humans always want want want. i am sorry if i have offended anyone

My opinions on this have already been expressed in knowledge seekers.
Do you want to distance yourself from "humans"?
I don't mean to offend but this is just an impression I get from some of your opinions and the way you address therians.
As for humans wanting more, more, more-
I'm quite happy for what I have, grateful actually.
I wouldn't say humans have a hole in their heart, more that they have a spiritual existence which constantly needs to be stimulated by something new, excited, desired. But it doesn't mean we are inherently negative.
Alot of people here seem very quick to deem the human race as something negative and philistine but I believe that we're very curious animals, not instantly all positive or all negative, just very very interesting; it's a feeling of affection that I get when addressing most of the human race.
I've always found that it's usually more of the minority that I find myself disliking, but as a whole if you're nice to people than they will be nice back. There are some pretty decent collectives out there.

Humans have lost the need to be sharp because of their high standing on the food chain. Not many things (save for those that go bump in the night) actively hunt us for food. We've become rather herdish by nature of relaxation. I see it as a flawed moment of transition from heard to a more hive-like structure. Humans would be better off if we acted more in a less individual manner.

Amen. A lone human can be reasoned with. Mob mentality is impenetrable. Who knows? Maybe individual lemmings are perfectly sane too. Haha. And yes, they are incredibly greedy. At some point, they're either gonna have to wake up and open their collective eyes, or this planet will be utterly ruined.

I'm curious how do you know that you are a wolf therian. I don't think I'm one I am just curious. Most of my research has been on vampires and I am expanding my field of research, so i fyou could reply that would be nice. if not I understand.
