There are doppelganger who whispers directly into a person's mind, driving them to distraction and ultimately into madness and insanity, that means it doesn't like you at all.
Some legends hold that a person sees their Doppelganger only when their own high or raised position to death. In addition, it can appear to warn a threatening close to happen fortune. Whether this is a warning to help a person prevent disaster or mock them for a fate they can't escape is not clear.

quite probable, although my theory
leans more toward multiple-personality
where its different "parts" of you, the
dopple-ganger could explain certain
connections forged among them.
