Nature, The Gate and the Fae
Since I was young I have had a series of visions of the ongoing destruction of nature . One intense set of visions concerned the opening of the gate between the mortal world and the otherworld which I feel occurred in mortal time about 40 years ago. After this gate was opened faeries were despatched in groups to inhabit of bodies of humans to send back information about what was happening in the mortal world and perhaps try and preserve things. The faeries sent were of many kinds but they would be trapped in mortal bodies as a form of changeling, often only in their dreams would their spirit be free. In my dreams I often find my self travelling back to Isles of the Blessed to tell what I have learned.
Now I have talked to some other fae over the years who think this vision has some meaning for them too one even said they had a similar vision of a great troop of fae coming through a glowing ring in the sky. They seem to feel they have been put here for some great purpose.
Does it mean anything to anyone here? What I certainly have noticed is that fae otherkin mostly in their human form seem to be fairly young which certainly coincides with this vision and that there seems to be a sudden surge in numbers.

I have another theory. The connections to the Faerie Realms were closed some four or five centuries ago and many Fae were trapped on this side. They were now at a disadvantage over the humans while without the eldrich forces from the Faerie realms flowing through this world their powers of flight and glamour were severely weakened, Not only that they lost access to the food that they need to preserve their longevity and youthfulness. They chose to mix their genes with humans which is why they stole human children and replaced then with their own precious offspring. As incubi and succubi they produced many half breeds who in turn had children and the Fae dispora became a sort of genetic time bomb just waiting for the right circumstances to explode.
Some time at the beginning or the middle the last century something happened. Elven power is flowing again in the earth. Very weak but enough to trigger those faerie genes in their human hosts - The Awakening.
As you say younger people are more likely to understand what is happening to them but it will affect anyone with enough faerie genes. Soon the Faerie Queene will take command of the growing numbers of Fae folk and together they will find and open the gates to the Faerie Realm - n.b. the gates were sealed from this side and can only be opened from this side.
There are some problems to overcome - they will need human help and there are powers that will stop at nothing to prevent them from attaining their goal. It is going to be very interesting in the near future.
As far as I know Faeries have never possessed human bodies, they are not daemons. Those of you who know you are Fae are indeed Fae. You will be yearning for the Elven Lands and the great city of Cleopolis.You will be longing for the fruits of the Fae gardens and the taste of nektar.
That vision of the Fae comming through the glowing ring in the sky. I can tell you where that will be. I is a place in Scotland near to the place that Thomas the Rhymer met the Faerie Queene and who took him to fair Elf Land.

Very interesting some of this corresponds with what I know indeed. I think we are talking about the same thing only with different terminology. It obviously makes sense that those with long-standing fairy blood would be the ones chosen. It is in effect a sort of possession as our bodies are mortal shells till we regain the realm.
I guess what I thought of as the opening of the Gate was the sending of energy which awakened the faerie genes the Awakening . Yes this makes sense.
And yes the ring could very well open in Scotland.

wait, i'm interested in this... what exactly is this gate, why is it closed, why do we have to open it, and why are the faeries taking the bodies of humans...? confused. lol.

Well in the past the the connection between our world and the otherworld of the fae was far closer. Thats why people talked of meeting faeries frequently and traveling there.
The Gate... and I think there is more than one physical location for this the Thomas Rhymer location would be one location is the bridge between here and the otherworld. The links still exist but it is far more difficult for us to travel there or for them to come here. Magicians and those with second sight can do it but only with extreme difficulty.
Why are faeries taking human bodies? Well we know that people feel they have fae selves trapped inside them and that they should be in the otherworld. Why this is the question... Tanewha thinks we are descendants of those who breed with the fae long ago. I think there is some sense to this in that our fairy blood may now be awakening. All we know is this... people have only started realising they were otherkin recently in the last 20 the thirty years. You find you very rarely find accounts earlier.
So why so many otherkin now? I think it is due to the ecological crisis myself. Certainly that is the impression I get from when I travel into the otherworld that it is being damaged by humanities destruction of the environment.
What Tanewha says is very interesting. I am thinking he might be correct in saying we have to work together to reopen the connections open the Gate. But there is a downside to this of course...

About the gates. As Faerie beings are reported in nearly all cultures all over the world (Vampires and Werewolves are mainly European phenomena) and are reported as living underground we can assume that there are lots of smaller gates hidden inside hills that connect to the main gate in Scotland. This concurs with Faerie lore. Once this is open all the others sub-gates will be open and Faeries from all over the world will be able to go home.

Yes makes sense. So have these ideas just occurred to you in response to what I have said or have you thought about this for a while?
Another question is when the gate opens do the fae just go home or does something else happen too? In my version it triggers dramatic events.
Not many others seem interested in this topic so I am worried that maybe the whole thing is just misleading dreams.

I hope so. :) I would think that the Fae Realm is another universe that must have laws of physics that differ from ours. As the two merge at the boundary very strange things will happen until some sort of balance is reached. After that magik, glamour and strange forces that used to be a part of life up until the end of the middle ages will once again hold sway on earth.

Yeah well Edward Cullen is actually not a vampire. He is more like a fae... I mean glittering in the sunlight that has fae written all over it. Plus he has none of the vulnerabilities of a vampire....

No I am not Fae. I have most of my information from old texts and Faerie Lore and theorizing about why the Fae do certain things and why they seem to have disappeared.

Aha... interesting indeed. yes I have read a lot of books in search of answers but the whole thing seems veiled in mystery. I am always questioning whether these dreams I have are real or strange fantasies thats why I am so keen to see if anyone else experiences things in the same way.
