Find some way to tell him that, without hurting him, and then convince him to stay just friends with you. That's my best advice. (Which, sadly, isn't as good as some other peoples' advice.)

Marrige is something serious.
You should get to know him more before jumping into marriage.
You know him as a best friend.
However you do not know him as a mate.

Hmm, I don't know... I think I'd have to say I disagree with that particular solution. It just doesn't seem all that effective to me.

If I were kicked in the face, I would be mad at the person who did it. I wouldn't consider it a gesture of friendship.
But I'd most likely be knocked unconscious before any of that.
