The few people I trust and know on this website will know I rarely post or discuss anything unless privately, I find most discussions on here fickly at best and tend to stay away from the masses. I have decided to add a discussion for the first time because I am intrigued as to what most of you actually think a vampire is and what would actually happen if you became one. This is not the first time I can remember being intrigued and for the few of you that do have the knowledge (you know who you are) this of course does not apply to you. Over time human precipitation of the world and acceptance has changed dramatically science and technology has played a big part in humans understanding themselves better and enabling them to understand the world they live in better, Vampires (and I use this term very loosely) and the human perception of them has also changed and varied depending on the time, region and country. Even basic internet searching with today’s technology (though not also accurate) will give you descriptions of what a vampire is/was, usually reported as bloated in appearance, and ruddy, purplish, or dark in colour; these characteristics were often attributed to the recent drinking of blood. Some clad in the linen shroud it was buried in, and its teeth, hair, and nails may have grown somewhat, though in general fangs were not a feature. some vampires were gaunt, pale, and had long fingernails, while others only had one nostril, some slept with thumbs crossed and one eye open. Other vampires only attacked while naked, and those of Albanian folklore wore high-heeled shoes!! Other bizarre descriptions include a bare skull instead of a head, furry feet and vampires that only sucked blood with their noses and from the victim's ears. Not exactly your Edward Cullen from the film Twilight! It was not until works of literature such as Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the influences of historical bloodthirsty figures such as Gilles de Rais, Elizabeth Bathory and Vlad Tepes the vampire developed into the modern stereotype. I’m rarely on due to other commitments but when I am I don’t talk much I listen to what some of you are saying, many talk of loneliness or isolation, aggressiveness against people and society and my understanding is that u think by becoming a vampire your problems would disappear?. What is it that you think you would gain, immortally? are you looking for more time, money, power, gifts ,acceptance, almost anything can be achieved even the human species is amazing in many ways but you humans as a race are lazy, you miss the point, life for you is so beautiful because you have a limited amount of time here, but instead of bettering yourselves or your existence you wait because you think the human life span is long, this ‘I do it tomorrow’ attitude is part of the big problem. Every thing is balanced and any gift is married with a curse, you long for something you don’t understand and could not even use if it was given, you envy us! I envy you! Your life is so simple and yet you long to end it, there’s nothing glorious when you are a keeper of knowledge to know the lie but swore to keep it secret, what if I told you everything you ever read was a lie?! It makes no difference, stop searching outward and start looking inward you might be surprised if only you stopped talking and start listening.

To keep the truth to yourself is the most difficult thing to do besides sacrificing your life to something. To be a knowledge keeper is one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life. The lies cloud everything.

Agreed it seems most species hunger for that knowledge but most are unwilling to recognize or accept its burden and cost.

They think knowledge is free. Nothing is fair. The very air and water you drink is paid for. The clothes on your back is paid for. The home you live in is paid for. Everything is paid for, but sometimes with not mere human money.

Nothing is free all is permitted

Too true. I'm wondering when the human race will be crushed... maybe soon, maybe later. But really, I'd like to see them crumble from within.

it just shows the inability of the species to comprehend and handle information that is bigger than them and at times bigger than this little planet we're inhabiting. knowledge isnt free. the price is huge. and i think the responsibility involved with knowing the things that we know is in itself the biggest burden. its exhausting to have to be responsible for things that dont even exist to most...ugh.

no, i don't want to be a vampire. its lame. i rather be who i am.

bumping this cause people ask the same question about wanting to be a vampire on different discussion :S

well, what if i said maybe most of us have this feeling that they of the wrong "spieces"? Like we have that feeling that we are actually vampires, therefore, we want to "become" vampires...?.o.o hope no one yells at me....

Like a man who feels like a woman? Haha no seriously there is a difference between knowing a path and walking it, contra to recent belief (by some members on here) there is a massive difference between being a human and being a vampire. ‘Just a little change in my diet’ doesn’t quite cut it, mentally, socially, physically, and morally. A want to be something else mentality is generally a need to change but the cost is beyond your worth, you are neither able or would pay (at the very least) the moral cost of your decision.

Not trying to be rude but are you saying we have a set worth? Or is it a thing based on our moralitys and that our life style and how we look at it wouldn't be able to cope with what would happen if granted to us?
