Truth and spirits
Do you sense spirits, or do they talk to you? It is a gift to be able to do so. However, there are some things people need to know. This post is about the importance of truth.
There is a spiritual law that basically goes like this: "Deceivers will be Deceived."
Basically this means that if you lie you will not be able to properly discern the difference between a trickster spirit and a genuine spirit.
Humans are spirit creatures. Humans wear a flesh and blood mortal body, but equal to that body is the soul that is attached to it. Because we are spirit creatures we are subject to the same spiritual laws that all other spirit creatures are held to. The major difference is that humans are one of the few spirit creatures that are openly given the option to follow them or ignore them, but only as long as they are in their temporal, organic form.
For the purpose of this, I am defining "human" as any person who has a human body. I am aware that some people identify with the Otherkin community, vampires, and other things pertaining to a different sort of soul, but for this purpose, if you are reading this and able to respond like a setient creature, and are in a human body, you are human.
Back to the topic:
The importance of truth cannot be understated. A person who lies lives in a world, not only of deception towards others, but deception towards self. The problem with his is that unlike a fully spirit creature, which immediately knows truth from lies, a human's sense of truth is usually muffled by the temporal form.
Even dark spirits know the difference. It's just that most dark spirits (demons, devils, fallen angels, malicious spirits, lost souls) are conciously lying and decieving themselves. It is their nature. Dark spirits lie for a number of reasons, some of the major of which is gaining power, status, and self preservation.
Please remember that darker spirits are struggling for existance in a state of being able to gather only a specific amount of power(spirit food). Dark spirits are hunters. For them, if power is like a pie, then there is only one and everybody is trying to get a piece of it. Light spirits (and nature spirits) have access to unlimited pie. Humans can choose which way to go. Dark spirits use lies as one tool in a vast arsenal of hunting tools.
The problem with this is that not only does a human body make it more difficult to sense spiritual things, a person who lies complicates the ability even further. So for a person who can talk to spirits, lying is like covering your eyes and stopping your ears before trying to commmunicate.
Not only does it confuse your senses in the spiritual sense, but it makes it impossible to be able to tell which spirits are dark, or trickster spirits and which are of other kinds. This is the main way that malicious entities latch on to a human.
Why would spirits want to latch on?
Basically, being mortal is an incredible gift that allows you the choice to either have unlimited food, or to squabble over pie. Even the darkest and most vile Mortal humans have access to the unlimited power. When tapped by a dark entity, It's like bonus candy that supliments the limited amount of pie that they have been given. Dark spirits latch on becasue they know how to get it as long as they are attached to a living person. They are lapping up the table scraps of a human's power like a dog hopping up on the table and going after the turkey dinner.
so anyways, once latched on, or connected in some way to the person, it can include the human in its own delusions and lies. this is how you get some spirits that come by, and a person would think the spirit is kind of cool, funny, nice, and generally friendly, but completely overlook the fact that the spirit lies about things, encourages the human to do bad stuff, or berates the human with false guilt, or gives them scenarios that become personal dark fantasies. These sorts of things can masquerade as angels, or as dead human souls, or nature spirits, or guardian spirits.
At first, there is a stage when you have failed to tell the difference between a legit spirit and a dark spirit, but then if you continue the relationship, you give the thing permission to the deeper power you have access to. Going back to the dinner table metaphor, the first stage is like a dog begging for scraps. The second stage is you looking the other way as the dog eats off the plates, and the final stage is you letting it jump up on the table itself. the problem is that the dog in question has food agression, and the more you give to it the bigger it gets.
To guard yourself aganist this, you must tell the truth. Only by being truthful in life can you have the clarity of sight to see the tricks of these entities. Armed with the truth, you will be able to talk to the spirits that need talking to, or the gentle spirits, or the higher spirits, and you will be able to avoid the hunter spirits and trickster spirits that will eventually tear you down or take you over.
