hey i realy like twilight and other vampire books .But i wondered wat do real vampire think of twilight and other stories about vampires . do you think it's insulting or not ?Tel me all about it!
Despite being a vampire, I find Twilight a good entertaining fictional series. I don't let Vampire series or books bother me. I know it's all fiction and the imagination of humans. So I'm cool with it. In fact I own all 4 books of the series. I also bought that Hot Topic special edition 2 disc DVD with film cell. Actually I accidently bought 2 of them...gave the other to my boyfriend's sister. I can't wait till New Moon comes out. I'm sort of making it a tradition to go out with all my chick friends on opening night. ^_^ Hopefully I'll have the money and can pre-buy tickets this year. But yeah, it's just fiction. i don't see why some vampires out there get all huffy puffy about it.
i agree. i enjoyed the movie and the books, but the only thing that bothers me is when people pose as vampires like the ones in the Twilight series and claim to be real.
im also gonna agree, i dont get offended, i mean vampire book are the only ones i read, but i do hate it when people say they are a vampire, when they really aren't. that sorta offends me
I'd have to second this agreement. I just couldn't get into Twilight. If you ask me, they put SHAME to everyone bearing the vampire name. What king of vampire ACTUALLY SPARKLES in the sunlight?! I'd rather seem my brethen burn and turn to ash than sparkle.
some vampires might see twilight as an insult to their existence, but me as a vampire and i am quite fond of movies i liked the plot of the movie, it was different from what i have seen\read before
I do read a lot of vampire books and I have read Twilight. I mean I do like the concept of glittering of the skin of vampires. Not too keen on the sleeping, it just seems impossible on that. But then Twilight is no way based on real life. It is fiction nothing more, and though it is a good book I wasn't too impressed by it.
It was too soft for me, even the fight scenes seemed...tame. I will warn you that the vampire books I do read is more violent in nature and more adult in content. But then that's the way I like my reading. And I have to admit it isn't a book I would want to pick up more than once and keep reading.
The vampire genre is such a hard genre to write for and you have to be an extraordinary writer to pull it off. And to a point you need to try and find a way to keep making it feel new and fresh for the audience. I have to say when I heard of the other book SM wrote, The Host, that intrigued me more as alien invasion is an old topic yes, but there hasn't been a saturation on the topic. Aliens are intriguing things, So when I finish my course I will be picking up the Host.
Other vampire stories? Well let me think: Well I love the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, I like the humour, which is laced with horror and mystery. I like the concept of vampire blood being like a drug and as so being sold as a drug. And it goes to a point to link bitting as a sexual act in itself; which I think myself.
There was a book I read that I thought was good it is called "The Wolfen" but I can't remember the writer. That one is on werewolves though. There is a lot of violence in it, but really comes of a underlining story of female cop who is married and believes in the values of the law finding out her cop husband in another division is dirty. Her partner gives her hassle from the beginning because he didn't want a woman as a partner, but along the line he falls in love with her. And she finds herself falling for him too. There have been several murders and it is hinted of wolves that have intelligence of a man, that they can calculate what is happening. In the end her husband is killed, the other 2 cops there are killed. She is alive and her partner is bitten and that's how it ends. Pretty cool that.
