meant to be - poem

we're so far away,
yet we're so close.
you think you've fallen in love with an angel,
but you have to know
that i can be deadly.
i want to feel your lips,
i want to feel your precious touch,
i want to hear you say "i love you"
for how did i desirve you?
i have done many wrongs
but you seem to look past that.
you see the light
instead of the darkness,
you see the goddess
instead of the ugly beast,
you see the good
instead of the villian everyone else sees.
for when you appeared in my sight,
i thought that this was a test,
that you were to fool me into not killing you.
but when you whispered my name,
i knew it was true.
my heart was pulsing to a broken beat,
but when you came,
it was stronger than god's mighty power.
i sometimes wonder,
how did i deserve you?
but i know this is the future
i was meant not to see.
so as im here waiting for your presence,
i'll be thinking of you.
