Shadows Kiss

Sorry this isnt the first chapter will post it soon though and ill put it in order x this part is quite near the beginning so maybe chapter 2/3.

The pain was spreading, ripping and slicing through my body, my lungs screeched for air, air that didn’t seem to be there anymore. Black spots clouded my vision. My breath came in ragged, uneven pants. I collapsed onto the ground and my head hit something hard. A warm - almost hot liquid was seeping from my skull. I couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t get enough air to my lungs. Falling, I was falling into darkness. Dimly aware of someone calling my name. Something warm and furry brushed my lips and then my senses couldn’t focus anymore as a gloomy darkness rushed in and swept me into a black sea of nothingness…

Never before had I tasted anything more divine than the
warm liquid spilling from the bleeding neck, gushing past my lips. I couldn’t stop, nor did I want to. I craved more of the sweet, dark fluid that was rushing down my throat, cooling it. I became more aware of my surroundings and was shocked to find myself cradled in the arms of the one person who I’d thought hated me: Alec, and even worse; my mouth was latched onto his neck. I didn’t pay any attention to him though, just pulled harder.
He wrenched my head back from his neck, snarling a single word.
“No”
Struggling in his iron grip, I hissed at him.
“Why? I want more, I need more.”
“No, you don’t. You want it but you do not need it, not now. Nor can you have it.” He sounded faintly amused by the end of the last sentence.
His hands clamped down on both my wrists while his arms tightened around me - carefully keeping his now fully healed neck away from my slightly curved and deadly pointed teeth. My teeth may not extend fully like his but they were still as sharp and as graceful. After what seemed a lifetime of me sat there being restrained in his lap did the bloodlust ebb completely.
Slightly embarrassed, I squirmed. “ Erm, you can let go now”
He chuckled and released his hold on me, but did not dump me on the floor like I thought he would.
“How long now?”
“Four hours until dawn and five until you need to get up for school.”
“I have already told you I’m not going until I find out what happened to my parents and anyway I already know the subjects that are taught to us, its way too easy” feeling a bit disgruntled I added “ Even if they made it harder It would still be easy. I could just… It would be just as easy.”
Oh my God I had nearly told him. I’ve never told anyone that I could read minds not after Mary-Ann. No, I can’t ever tell anyone, or I might end up hooked up to machines again. I had almost told him, and that scared me more than anything else. I looked up to search his face to see if he had caught my slip, his raised eyebrow said that he had missed nothing. Feeling awkward I jerked upright, refusing to meet his eye.
“Thank you.”
“For what? You were dying, you know that right? You need blood to survive.”
“Ugh, yes, ok I know I was, but there is no way I need it. Eww. I don’t know what you did but whatever it was I am grateful but I do not need blood to survive! I mean that’s just plain disgusting.”
His eyebrow raised again.
“You didn’t have any problem drinking mine a minute ago, in fact I seem to recall you trying to rip my throat out.”
Grimacing at the memory, a sharp slice of desire ripped through me, I raised my eyes to his. “I am not like you. I..I can’t be.” Desperation was thick in my voice.
“Not fully but at least half of you is. Your teeth don’t puncture quite so deeply, as I found out earlier. But, they are as sharp and pointed, not that I want to be on the receiving end of them again.”
I snorted and bared my now flat teeth at him. “ Annoy me and you will be”
He smirked and bared his own teeth. A small flicker of ruby light shimmered in his eyes. “I’m sure I won’t”
“You positive about that?”
“Never been more sure, angel.”
Muttering something very un-lady like I turned my back on him. I heard him move very softly, hiding a grin I reached very slowly for a glass on the side. Closing my eyes I reached out with my mind to feel his aura. Normally I would find their life-force instead but since he didn’t have one, I worked with what I had. I knew I was cheating but what he didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt him… well, unless he came too close and didn’t try to catch me off guard - which was exactly what he was doing right now. Catching that small glimmer of thought that betrayed him. I smashed the glass straight into his head. Or tried to, he was too fast. Seizing my wrists in a move that was a blur even to me he twisted them until they were crossed over my chest. Unable to move them I used my feet instead and stamped straight through his shoe with my (very sharp) titanium heel. He grunted once and whisked my feet from underneath me and had me pinned against the wall in three seconds. His grip loosened ever so slightly and he was distracted a little- from what i had no idea - not enough for a human, but then-again I had never really been human and as much as I might wish I couldn’t deny that right now - I took advantage of whatever it was and sank my now fully extended fangs into his shoulder. Careful not to swallow the intoxicating blood that was spilling past my lips, I held on firmly with my teeth while he attempted to pry my teeth loose with out hurting me. He had no chance.

please comment on his name i dont know if its the right one, any ideas? oh and the girls name is Angel - even though she doesnt seem like one right now ;p
