It can indeed be a bind. Fortunately I have some hypnotic and suggestive powers that cause others to look the other way and forget what they think they have seen. I am quite skilled these days. I would say I have a minor altercation of some kind once every three months or so. Usually it is because I have been caught "kissing" someone's boyfriend or girlfriend.
I can handle the police. Sometimes they try to arrest me for assault. Rarely are they able to detain me. Once I did have to spend the night in a cell. This was because I drank the blood of an individual who rightly ought to have been dead from alcohol poisoning. It made me drunk, and I rather lost my wits and tried to bite a police officer.
I made a terrible hash of things last year by attempting to vampirise a very attractive white witch called Eleanor. It turned out she was resistant to hypnotism and remained totally aware while I was drinking from her. She followed me all the way home to my apartment in Knightsbridge, and banged on the door making a terrible racket and refused to leave until I let her inside. She is now a faithful companion who accompanies me on my more interesting missions.
