Chapter 13

A week had passed since Jake and my almost break up. Things weren’t completely back to normal but it was getting there. I had started ignoring Kyle but it was hard to do so. Since he was everywhere I turn or look! I started walking towards my locker, to get my next lesson books out. When I turned the corner I found Kyle leaning against it…talk about stalking! Last week I used to think Kyle was sweet and cute but after my almost break up with Jake, I changed my mind instantly.
“You again.” I said anger in my tone of voice.
“Yeah me again!”
“Why are you near my locker?”
“Waiting for you.”
“Why?”
“So we talk.”
“There’s nothing to say.”
“Come on it was fun together!”
“It might have been but it’s funnier with Jake.”
“Keep telling yourself that.”
I got angry at him. How dare he say something like that!
“What is your problem? If it was funnier with you don’t you think I would have dumped Jake for you?”
“Well why don’t you?”
“Very Funny.”
“I’m serious.”
“Whatever, bye.”
I turned around to leave, but he grabbed my hand.
“What?” I said turning around and snatching my hand away from him.
“I know it’s a mistake.”
“You don’t know anything.”
I turned around and went into class. I found a seat next to Chloe and sat down. What was happening with Kyle? He was acting so weird! I barely knew him and if it wasn’t for that stupid dance none of this would have happened. I wasn’t going to tell my friends or Jake about his behavior. I avoided any conversation to do with Kyle when I spoke to the others. I was so engrossed into my thoughts that I didn’t hear Mr. Alex call my name until Chloe hit my elbow.
“Alexia!”
“W-what?”
“Maybe you should stop day dreaming about boys and your love life and focus on your algebra.”
How did he even know I was thinking about a boy!
“Yes, Sir.” I said turning red.
Chloe wrote me a note.

Something is definitely wrong.
how could you not hear him call your
name? What’s up Lexie? And don’t say
nothing! Is it Kyle?

Nono seriously I was just
noo into my thoughts!

But where your thoughts about Kyle?

NO! can you drop the subject
about him? I don’t like mentioning
Kyle and you know that!

What could I tell her? I was trying to forget him! I wish he just made it easy for me. I hated lying to my friends, but nothing I can do to help it. Its better this way. The bell rang signaling our next class. I told Chloe bye and went to my next class. Economics, with Kyle. It was a huge surprise the first time I found he was in my class! When I got to class everyone settled down. When the lesson started, Kyle was passing me a note from student to student until it got to me.

Are you pissed at me or something?

Of course I was! What did he expect? He makes that type of accusation! I would never prefer him to Jake!

Gee Kyle, what do you think?
Stop sending me notes!!

But he didn’t stop! Why wouldn’t he just leave me alone?

What did I do??

I can’t believe this guy. He was becoming too annoying!

You accused me of liking you!
that’s an offence you know!

Being mean was the only way that Kyle might leave me alone!

He never gives up! I didn’t reply and just waited for the bell to ring. When it rang I rushed out to go to lunch.
“Hey Lexie.” Jake said when I sat next down next to him.
“Hi, wanna come over today?”
Jake hadn’t come over since the incident with my grandma.
“I don’t know…”
“Why not?”
“Because of your grandma.”
“Oh, she doesn’t care. Besides she’s rarely home and we’ll just go riding with the horses if you want.”
“I guess that’s okay. I haven’t seen Pharoah and Lilah in ages!”
When school finished we walked to the bus and got on. When we arrived home I asked Jake to go outside and went in to tell Dawn he was here… unfortunately there was grandma so I decided I better not say anything and so instead I just told grandma that I was going to check on the horses and maybe ride a little. I went out back , Jake behind me and walked over to the horses, I pet lilah and then pharaoh. Jake was sitting down on the haystack like he had done the month before. I sat down next to him and then he lay down and I did the same placing my head on his chest. I was so warm when I was next to him.
The next thing I knew I was opening my eyelids to find him staring at me with his amazing eyes…they looked different, more green but with an amazing sea blue circle around them.
“How about going for a ride with the horses…you do know how to ride don’t you?” I asked him.
“Course I do.” he said unsurely.
I took the horses out of the stables and put a saddle on lilah then on pharaoh.
“Do you want lilah or pharaoh.” I asked.
“Pharoah.”
“Ok I’ll take Lilah.”
When I was about to get up I saw that Jake was already on Pharaoh, when he had just been behind me…I mounted lilah and signalled her to start…
We didn’t say anything for a while and there was silence except for the horse shoes on the road.
“So… have you been talking to Kyle lately?”
“Well I try not to but the guy is practically stalking me!”
I heard him laugh, which wasn’t the reaction I expected.
“It’s not funny!”
“Yeah it is! Well, I would expect it if I was you.”
“How come?”
“Oh come on haven’t you seen yourself in the mirror?”
“Yeah I have and I’ve seen myself when I look at Dawn.”
That made him laugh even more and I smiled.
“Well then you should have realized that you look bueatiful and I wouldn’t blame Kyle for stalking you.”
I felt my face burn red.
“Thanks. So you’re not angry with me?”
“Why would I be it’s not technically your fault.”
“I know that…”
“Besides I have to learn to start trusting you right?”
“Right.”
We continued talking about school and stuff.
“It’s going to be dark soon, we better put the horses inside.” I told Jake.
“Yeah.”
He helped me put them in and then we started going to my house. I saw a shadowy figure sitting on my door step.
“Hello?” I asked. I still didn’t know who it was since he was in the dark.
“Hey Lexie.”
Kyle???
“What are you doing here?”
I looked at Jake and saw that he was confused. Jake and Kyle had never met officially so they didn’t know who eachother was. Kyle came out of his shadowy place.
“Er… Jake this is Kyle and vice versa.”
“Oh so this is the famous Jake.”
“Oh so this is the ignorant Kyle.”
I didn’t want them to meet and now that they had I didn’t know what to do so I just stayed at the side and see what would happen next.
“Ignorant?”
“Yeah I mean, can’t you realize my girlfriend isn’t interested in you!”
“Well she should be, before I saw you I was actually worried but now I realize I was being worried for nothing.”
“So your self confidence is that low?”
“Very funny, bonehead.”
“Atleast Lexie actually wants me.”
“Who do you think she wanted last week?”
Okay this was going in a direction I didn’t like!
“Why don’t you ask her?”
They both turned to face me.
“Uh.. well Kyle if I wanted to be with you I would have shown it, like kissed you. Which I didn’t, so I have to agree with Jake.”
“Okay fine, whatever.”
I thought it was time to get rid of Kyle.
“I think you should go Kyle.”
“Why?”
“Because I told you to. Bye.”
“Fine, we’ll catch up later won’t we?”
In a flash I saw Jake grab Kyle, from his shirt and slam him against the wall.
“Leave her alone!”
“Woah, you’re very overprotective! I wouldn’t want you as my boyfriend that’s for sure. I’d want someone who would trust me enough to hang out with guys.”
“Who are you suggesting?” Jake said with a smirk.
“Me, obviously.”
I didn’t want them to fight and I didn’t like the idea that Jake slammed Kyle, even though he deserved it. I was getting scared at Jake, he looked mad.
“Jake let go of him.”
“Yeah, let go of me Jakey!”
Jake looked at me and I think he noticed I was abit scared so he let go of Jake.
“Just leave her alone.”
“What? Are you jelous I’m a better dancer than you?” Kyle said laughing.
Jake soon wiped the smile out of his face since he punched Kyle right in the face. I was shocked! He had given Kyle a black eye.
“You are not a better dancer than me.”
“Fine but Lexie can protect herself. She’s not a baby like you make her out to be.”
“Kyle just do this for me and leave!”
“Fine but just incase you realize you chose the wrong person, you know where to find me.”
Jake didn’t hesistate and he just punched Kyle right in the face, giving him another black eye. He was going to look funny tomorrow…
“It will be worse if I see you around here again.”
Kyle turned round, without daring to say another word and left, leaving Jake and me alone. I was looking at Jake, horrified. I know Kyle was making idiotic comments but Jake didn’t have to go punch him!
“Sorry about Kyle being here.” I said.
“Why are you apologizing? It’s not like it’s your fault…right?”
“It’s not. Why did you punch him?”
“Because he was being an idiot.”
“You didn’t have to punch him! Two times!”
“Do you still have feelings for the guy?” Jake asked turning on me.
“I never had feelings for him. But Jake you could have gotten hurt.”
“How?”
“What if Kyle decided to punch you back? You would have started a fight!”
“Forget about it.”
“I can’t! You better not do anything like that again.”
“Look I did it for you!”
“No one asked you to.” I exclaimed.
“I have to go.”
Without saying bye, he gave me a last look and then turned round to leave. I didn’t stop him or go give him a kiss. I went inside and found Dawn in the kitchen, Grandma probably had gone out whilst I was riding with Jake. I didn’t bother telling Dawn hi, instead I just went upstairs to my room. I was really angry at Kyle for showing up and spoiling everything, but I also was mad at Jake for daring to punch him. I know Kyle deserved it but Jake should know I hate violence! What was up with the two of them! They were both equally annoying me. This was almost enough to make me think about dumping Jake, maybe they both would leave me alone in peace! I kicked my bedside table, which made a noise. Dawn came to my room asking what happened, I didn’t feel like telling her about stalker Kyle or Jake punching him but it would feel good to open up to her… I think.
“It’s just Kyle and Jake.”
“Kyle is the one you danced with at the school dance?”
“Yeah, him. Well last week we went out as friends and Jake thought something was happening so he dumped me…”
“What? And you didn’t tell me!”
“There’s more! Jake and I got back together and I started ignoring Kyle but he keeps on trying to talk to me and today when I was out on the horses with Jake, Kyle came and they started talking…”
“What happened?”
“Jake grabbed Kyle from his top and then he punched him two times.”
“Why?”
“Because Kyle was saying some stupid stuff. And now I don’t know what to do!”
“Well, maybe Jake should give you some space and let you talk to Kyle.”
“No way! He wouldn’t let me do that! Not after today.”
“But that way you won’t have Kyle stalking you and Jake shouldn’t be jelous it’s not like you two are going out.”
“I know.”
“Or else dump Jake go with Kyle. I mean Kyle doesn’t sound bad he just really likes you.”
“I don’t think I can dump Jake for Kyle! It’s not a good idea.”
“How did things with Jake end?”
“I think we’re in a fight.”
“Well you need to apologize if you sure want him back.”
“Thanks Dawn.”
“For what?”
“Listening to me!”
“No problem. That’s what I’m here for.”
After she left, I went on my laptop and signed online. There were Blair and Chloe online, so we did a conversation of three.

>> WannaBme: He showed up on my doorstep and then he
was saying stupid things causing Jake to
punch him!

>> WannaBme: Yeah I know! Listen guys I’m gonna have an
early night. I only came online to check
if Jake was online so I’d talk to him.

I washed and then went to sleep. I woke up late for school so I had to hurry up and get ready. When I got to school I was late so I had to hurry up and get to class. I really wanted to talk to Jake but I had to wait for lunch time. When I finally got to our usual table Jake wasn’t there.
“Hi guys, where’s Jake?” I asked.
“Don’t know, he didn’t come to sit with us.” Blair said.
“Okay, I’m going to go find him.”
That’s weird why didn’t he sit with us? I went to the library but he wasn’t there. So I went to the courtyard but again I couldn’t spot him out. I started walking along the corridor and realized the supply closet’s door was abit open. I peeked inside and found Jake sitting on the floor against the wall.
“Hey, what are you doing here?” I asked.
“Hi. I don’t know.”
I went inside, closing the door behind me, and went to sit beside him. We stayed abit in silence looking around the closet until we met eachothers eyes.
“We had a nice time in here.” Jake said.
“It was okay, but I didn’t know you a lot back than.”
“Oh Lexie what’s happening to us?” Jake said whilst gently stroking my cheek.
“I don’t know, we were- are a cute couple but something always comes between us.”
“I want things to go back to normal.”
“Me too!”
“The Luke thing was solved and now Kyle comes and ruins everything again.”
I knew he had a point but both of them were’nt my fault… okay maybe Kyle’s was. I guess I shouldn’t have danced with him… but how could I have known this would happen?
“I’m sorry Jake.” I mumbled.
“I know.”
“I guess if you want to dump me, I’d understand I mean I’m boy trouble.”
“What are you talking about? I’d be crazy to dump you. I don’t care if you’re boy trouble. I love you and that’s all that matters.”
“Thanks. I love you too.”
“Sorry about yesterday.”
“I know you are but you shouldn’t have punched him. Next time don’t do it okay?”
“Why?”
“Because you could have gotten hurt!”
“Fine, I won’t but it sure felt good to punch that guy.”
“I know it did and he did deserve it.”
I leaned on him and we started kissing…
“I’m glad we have chemistry together.”
“Why?” I asked.
“Because I wouldn’t have noticed you if we didn’t.”
“Yeah, you have a point.”
“I think we should get out, the bells gonna ring soon.”
“But I don’t feel like going back.”
“Me neither but we have to. Come on.”
“Okay, okay.”
Jake got up and I followed him outside.
“So is Kyle really a better dancer than me?” Jake asked me grinning.
I punched him lightly and smiled back at him.
“Maybe but you’re better good looking.”
The bell rang and so we went to our separate classes. I had Algebra with Chloe. I found a seat next to her, but we couldn’t talk since the teacher walked in.

We stopped sending notes and I waited for the end of school. When school finished, I had my magazine meeting. I said bye to the others and then went to my magazine meeting. When I got to the library everything was like usual; people preparing things for the magazine.
“Hey Alexia, a new comer is joining the magazine staff I need you to show him the ropes okay?” Micheal asked me.
“Yeah sure.”
I didn’t have a problem with helping a newcomer. The library doors swung open and looked up to see if it was the newcomer, but it wasn’t. It was Kyle. What was he doing here?
“What are you doing here?” I asked, going near him.
“Didn’t anyone tell you? I’m the new person that’s joining the staff.”
“What? You can’t be!”
“Better believe it! Now what do I need to do first?”
“Why did you join?” I asked ignoring his question.
“Well I figured this would be the only place Jake wouldn’t be, so it’s my only chance to talk to you.”
“I have been telling you to leave me alone! Why won’t you listen?”
“Because I don’t want to!”
“Alexia? What are you doing chatting? Why aren’t you showing Kyle how to edit the magazine?” Michael said, interrupting our conversation.
“Uh… Sorry I was just going to show him.”
I grabbed Kyle and led him to the computers. This was something I didn’t need!
