vampire fairy twilight goth emo punk sk8er meeting place

The end of the world. It's not coming fast enough.

The sun is stuck at high noon over NYC. Each day the heat builds. The electricity shuts on and off, each day staying on for less. The water is running out. The helicopters drop it once a week, in bottles. Half the people have left or died from dehydration. The store keepers are getting rich. They hord the food they can, selling it for high amounts of money or water. People are going savage. And the heat keeps building.

Stay alive. Stay alive for as long as you can. Thats all you need to do. But If your gone, it makes things easier on everyone else...

Day-1 Week-1

Abigal drags her shopping cart into the main foyer of her apartment building and into the elevator. She leans against the cart as she prays the electricty will stay on long enough to reach the 5th floor. Her blue shirt and ripped jeans stick to her sweaty body. The gun in her pocket is so hot it almost scorches her, but she has to keep it close. It's not safe anywhere anymore. The elevator reaches the 5th floor and she drags her cart to her room. Having a room in the center of the building seemed disadvantaged when she first got it. No window, no view. But now it was the best room on the floor. No window, less heat. She opens the door carefully. 'Gabriel, Claire? It's just me. I'm back.' Little 8 year old Claire runs around the corner. 'Oh Miss Lace, Mummys got worse. Oh... where did you get that?' Claire points to Abigails cart. It's almost filled with tins and boxes. But on top is 2 10L bottles of water. 'It's water day Claire. You can have some soon, but we have to see to your mummy first, Ok?' Claire nods and walks back into the apartment, heading for the bedroom. Abigail pushes the cart into the kitchen and lock the front door. She cant be too careful any more. 'Gabriel?' Abigail walks into the dark bedroom. A figure shifts slightly on the bed. 'Oh Gabriel.' Abigail sits on the bed, next to her sick friend. Gabriel had been shot in the arm 2 weeks ago. Because Abigail trusted people to still act human. The wound got infected. And Gabriel couldn't fight the infection and the heat. She wouldnt last more than a few more days. 'Abigail?'
'Yes, I'm here.'
'Please, promise... promise me.'
'What is it?'
'Why did you help us?'
'Because your my friend.'
'Look after Claire, please'
Abigail could have said that she wouldn't have to. That Gabriel would be there to do it herself. That she would make it. But Abigail couldn't lie to her friend.
'Yes I will.'

Day 1- Week 1 XD

Kitania "Kitty" Williams propped her legs up on the resturant's counter, playing with the frayed ends of her sun dress. Her younger brother, Cain, was stirring his straw around in his kool-aid.

"Kitty...?" Her brother murmured silently, taking the straw from the drink and licking its end.

"What, babe?" She replied, sitting up to look at him.

He didn't finish at first, he twirled the straw between his fingers. "Is it true? Are we all really going to die?"
Kitty pursed her lips, standing up and walking up behind her brother. "Maybe, honey. But, as long as we have the food and water from the resturant, and continue to sell some of it to the others, we'll survive."

"But, the sun.." He seemed broken.

"Cain, listen to me. We'll make it. I promise..." Kitty stroked his charcoal haired head.

"Hello?" A voice echoed from the front door.

"Come on in..." Kitty shouted, jumping over the counter. A man about twenty entered, face drenched in sweat and as red as a tomato. "Can I help you, sir?"

Cain shifted in his seat, returning to his kool-aid. The man stared at the beverage the boy was playing with. He seemed flabberghasted.

"Water.." He snapped from his trance, eyes flying to the woman's face. "I need water.. and food.."

Kitty felt a ting of guilt, but asked, "How much do you have?"

The man's face sank. "I...I have nothing..." He soon dropped to the floor, his body making a hollow thud against the cement floor.
Cain jumped up, his eyes wide with fear.

"Cain, sit down." She pointed to the chair, and he obeyed, lowering himself into the chair.
She walked over to the man, checking for a pulse. None. "Cain, go get a bag. He's dead."

The boy swallowed, adam's apple bobbing, but nodded, heading to the back kitchen. Kitty frowned at the man's corpse, his curly brunette hair pressing against his unreddening face.
Cain came from the back room the moment the air conditioner buzzed dead, the neon lights of the dim resturant dying out like fireflies.

Day-2 week-1
'Claire, we need to get these things packed!'
Abigail grabbed another plastic tub and piled some clothes into it. She stacked this next to the door with the other two boxes. One held boxes of cereal and dried fruit, the other was sturdier and held cans.
'Claire?'
Abigail went to the bedroom. Claire was on the floor crying.
Gabriel hadn't even lasted the night.
'Oh sweetie, come here.' She picked up Claire and hugged her, tears flowing down both their cheeks.

'Do we have to leave, Miss Lace?' Claire asked again.
'Yes, Claire. I found a new, better place for us. It's underground, so it's much colder. And it's big, so we can do anything we want with it. You'll love it Claire.'
'Can I take Jessie?'
'Of course you can take Jessie. We wouldn't just leave your cat behind. She'll be fine with us.'
Claire just nodded.

After many trips, all the boxes had been moved to the underground warehouse. It only had one door, and Abigail had found the keys, so it was much safer. And it had ramps instead of stairs, so it was easier to use. And they were underground so it was just over 35'c, much cooler.
But the water was still running out and the food wouldn't last long.
'Claire, did you get the last box?'
'Yes, Miss Lace. But I don't like taking other peoples things. Mummy always said it was naughty.'
'You can call me Abbie. And yes, taking other peoples things is naughty, but they have left it behind, so they don't want it. And we need it to get more food. Okay?'
'Yes, Abbie.'
Claire put down the last box. It was full of gold and silver jewelry, cash, anything of value that had been left in the other apartments. Normally this kind of quantity was worth thousands, but now it was the only way to by water.
'Now, I'm going to give you a key for the door. Each time I leave, I want you to lock the door and not open it unless you hear me asking you to, Okay?'
Claire nodded.
'Okay, now what would you like for dinner?'

Day 2-Week 1

*Are you the guy who entered???Or someone different???*

The power refused to restart, meaning the two were to pack up and head out. Kitty hated it, but had to leave the family resturant behind. "Got the food tub, Cain?" Kitty twisted herself to where she could eye her brother sliding boxes for dehydrated foods and the like.

The boy nodded, taking the thin lid and snapping it on the top. "Yeah..." Cain's eyes wondered to the back room. Kitty guessed his thoughts.

"Cain, I know what you're thinking. I am positive that man is dead." Kitty didn't want to except it, but it had to be true. He had passed from being overheated. No human can survive that. Cain frowned.

"Are you sure? I mean, what if he's really alive, and we leave him here, and he wakes up alone...." Cain tries, but Kitty is already shaking her head.

"Baby, no. He's dead. I know it. Please.. leave it at that..."

Cain would've probbed more, but he could see the pain expression on his older sister's face, and decided against it. "Alright, Sis. But, where are we going, then?" Kitty shrugged unsurely.
"I don't know, babe." She nodded to another empty tub that laid against the wall. "Pack that one, too, hon." Cain agreed, then went to grab the box that sat by the door, when he froze, cocking his head to where his head was closer to the door.

"What, Cain?" Kitty stood up and walked to her brother's side.

**P.s. If you are, then this is a nudge to bring him to live XP**

*He's a little kid who just walk in from the sewer. Just so you know.*

**Okay, let me get this straight before I continue. You are not the same man who entered the resturant on day one? If so, please clairify. XP**

*Okay, I'll explain what Shadow has told me so far.
He is a little boy. That's a major part. He came up from the sewer looking for something to eat. He has been living in the sewer because both his parents are dead and it's cooler down there. That's about it. No conection to the man who died in your shop recently. (As far as I know)*

Day 3- Week 1

Kitty gathered their things and rolled them out before the shop. Cain sat upon the dried food tub, staring up at the blazing sun.
"Hey, Sis. Where are we going?"

Kitty smiled, rolling the final tub out. "An underground area. We'll be staying there for a while until the power comes back on. Okay?"

He shrugged. "Doesn't matter what I want. We need to do what we need to survive." He seemed hurt.
Kitty rubbed his shoulder affectionly. "Okay, baby. We'll be fine. Just you wait. We'll make it. You'll see." She whispered, propping her chin on his shoulder over her hand.

He sighed heavily as he and Kitty made their way towards the underground tunnel.
((Hey, what happened to the little kid who walked into your store, the one we spent the last few days talking about?))
Day-3 week-1
Abigail walks down the long street, stumbling slightly because the heat has hit 44.5'c She trudges into a nearby shop, dropping the heavy back pack on the floor. 'Hello? Is anyone here?' This is the 15th shop shes tried. She looks over the counter, then sighs. She picks up the back pack and walks out, leaving the dead shop keeper where she found him.

After fifteen more minutes walking, Abigail is about ready to give up, when she sees a woman and a young boy in the distance. 'Hey... wait.' She calls out. She runs up to them, then stops, panting. 'I... I was wondering if you had any water to trade. I'm almost... almost out. I have... a lot of gold and sliver in my pack', and almost 2 thousand in cash, if your interested.
