Ch.1

I still remember the night we found her. The girl had silvery blonde hair and crimson red lips. They looked like cherries against her pale white skin. I looked in her silvery eyes and I swore that they were changing color, just for a second. She was like a pitch black, moonlit sky dotted with silvery white stars.

I remember she would dance in the rain, every time the evaporated water fell from the sky, she would be out in it. And every time I saw her in the rain, she was wearing black. I had been watching her from our kitchen window ever since May. I would sometimes see a black cat with her, prancing around her feet to its own unknown rhythm.

We had never spoken to each other before that night. That night, it was raining like it had never rained before, almost like God was trying to flood the Earth again. I looked out my Kitchen window, but she wasn't out there dancing. I wondered why. Then I saw the reason: she was running for her life.

My dad saw them before me. His eyes were better. He ran out of the house with the shot gun from the corner behind the fireplace, but it wasn't like he needed it. The wolves left before he even shot the gun.

I stood in my chosen spot on the porch, looking on in fright. They were five times bigger than any wolves I had ever seen. They looked bigger and taller than even daddy. But why did they run away? And why didn’t daddy have to fire? I mean they were bigger than him, and there were more of them.

When we brought her inside, her faded jeans and black T-shirt were tattered to sheds. But she wasn't bleeding, thank God for that, or else she would have bigger problems than just wolves.

"So where do you live?" Daddy began the usual interrogation.
"No where, now." She answered her voice like frozen water.
"What do you mean by that?" Daddy asked, acting confused.
She began sobbing a little.
"The wolves killed everyone but me."
I could tell it hurt her to even think about it. And then Daddy smiled. That sick, hungry smile he always got when there was a human in the house.

"What's your name?" I asked quickly, trying to keep my mind off of what was going to happen. She looked up at daddy, like she heard what he was thinking. "Midnight Snow." She said, keeping her eyes on daddy. Right then my twin brother Ash walked into the kitchen. Then he saw Midnight.
"Who is she?" He asked with a funny look on his face.

Moonlight

Ch.1

My dad saw it before me. He run out of the house with a shot gum, but it wasn't like he need it. The wolves left even before he shot the gum. Where was something very wronge with those wolves.
