1. No sex or violence in public places! Please be aware that there are children and young teens on the network. Be aware that your posts could be read by children. If you want to write risqué material, start a private group, state that it is for over eighteens only, and use the discussion tool to post your material where it will be private (N.B. don't post it in the comments section on your group because anyone can see it there).
2. Look out for the kids! Please look after the children and young teens. Help keep them out of trouble and protect them from strangers. If you come across a suspicious discussion, report it to us straight away! We operate a zero-tolerance policy.
3. No bullying! We want this community to be a safe place for emos and goths that helps them escape from problems in real life.
4. No discussing suicide! If you are depressed enough that you feel this way, you need to GET HELP. If you can't talk to anyone in your family, go and speak to the school counsellor, the school nurse, a therapist, or your doctor. If you can't do that, phone or email an organisation like the samaritans. And read this.
5. No discussing anorexia! Anorexia kills. If you have anorexia, you need help, and you should start by reading this.
6. Try to follow the rules of netiquette!
   • Remember you are talking to other human beings who have feelings and if you say nasty things you could hurt them - more than you think.
   • Behave online the way you would if you were talking to someone in real life - don't be rude or aggressive.
   • Know where you are in cyberspace - don't insult goths and emos here!
   • Don't waste other people's time. Try not to bore other people with your rants and whines.
   • Make yourself look your best, check your spelling, make sure what you say makes sense.
   • Share your knowledge, if someone has a question you know the answer to - answer it!
   • Keep flame wars under control, be friendly, be polite, smooth over differences.
   • Respect other people's privacy. Don't try to break into their accounts or pester them if your attention isn't wanted.
   • Don't abuse your power. Knowing more than others doesn't give you the right to take advantage of them.
   • Forgive other people's mistakes. Don't make them look stupid or humiliate them, if it's important, let them know, preferably by private email.
