Chapter 1: First Sight

I did my usual sweep of the house before leaving.
Did I forget anything? No.
I grabbed my keys and walked out the door. It was raining, as usual.
I pulled up my hood and unlocked the car door. It looked like night out because of the heavy, dark rain clouds but I knew better. It was 5 in the morning. I was late for work at the shop.
My car whined as I put the key in the ignition and started it up. Well, I didn’t like mornings either.
