Writing is a hobby for me, so if you have any comments at all on anything i write, tell me about it! i started this yesterday, so i hope you enjoy it!

The night was dark, the moon was full, and there was an ominous feeling hanging in the air like a spider waiting to drop on an unexpected victim. My friends and I went up to the canyon for a bonfire. The forest seemed peaceful, the night was warm and filled with laughter. The air smelled of roasting marshmellows and starbursts. Suddenly, the evening changed for my best friend, Allison, and I. The air turned cold, and we were restless and uneasy. I saw shadows flickering between the trees.

We decided to run; where to, we had no idea, but we ran. We raced up the path among the trees until we came to a fork in the trail. One path led deeper into the forest, and the other one was lit by a single street lamp. Naturally, we chose the less sinister looking one, and continued to run.

I felt free, and I could have run forever. I felt as though we were running from something, but what that something was, I don't have an inkling. Adreneline pumped through my veins as we ran from this unseen creature of darkness.

stop right now! screamed a strange voice inside of my head. Allison must have heard a similar warning, for we both stopped short and looked around. Shadows scurried among the leaves, whispering ever so softly, and just out of reach. Holding each other tightly, and being the rebels we are, we took the tiniest step toward the shadows in front of us.

A maniacal laugh trilled and a man -or at least the same shape as a man- was in my face. I stiffled a scream. Those eyes, that inhuman face, I was stupified. I was staring straight into the eyes of a demon.
