Well I was going to go to a debate today, but my partner is a lazy bum face and doesn't want to. -__- So I dumped him (as a debate partner) because this is getting really annoying. I do all the work myself and he just reads the speeches. Gah. He's so good at it too! I don't understand! He should want to keep winning!!!
So I have the weekend free. I'll actually get to sleep in for once tomarrow! That's going to be awesome. But after that I have no idea what to do with myself...
I'm going to have to figure out something fun to do with it, any ideas???
It's too cold to do stuff outside. Maybe I'll just sit on the computer and talk to you guys. :P
Ah, so some crazyness. Yesterday I ran across a forum post on lucid dreaming. It's basicly when you have dreams, but you know that your in a dream so you can do whatever you want. I've had them before but they never last long because it's usually in the stages of sleep when your waking up.
Someone was talking about some sound stuff that related to the topic. I looked into it and it goes something like this: your brain works at different brainwave frequencies.
Beta frequency is 13 to 40 hz and is when you (and your brain) is in full awakeness.
Alpha frequency is 7 to 13 hz and is the stage of relaxation and daydreaming.
Theta frequency is 3.5 to 7 hz and includes dreaming
Delta frequency is below 3.5 and is deep sleep
So the theory goes something like this; if you listen to a sound in one ear that is 300 hz and another sound that is 304 hz the difference is 4 hz which would fall into the Theta catagory. If you listen to this sound you're brain subconciously tries to match that frequency. So basicly you can induce yourself to dream.
Anyways, I downloaded this mp3 and tried it last night.
I had a dream that I was throwing oranges at some old ladies house. And then the next day the old lady and her family where throwing oranges at my house. So my little brother and I snuck into her house with some oranges and smeared them on her windows. Then I went to collage.
It was weird. And I didn't realize that I was dreaming. But I did remember the dream, which usually never happens with me. So I'll keep trying and let you know.
Some stuff I found to help with this includes keeping a dream journal (which I intend to post in my blogs from now on) and performing reality checks. Reality checks just mean that you come into the habit of doing something that might become irregular in a dream (such as looking at a clock. In real life the clock will move at a normal speed, but in a dream, the clock will change between momentary glances).
Anyways, this stuff is really only just theory, although there is strong evidence to support it. Hope you learned something :)
That's it for now! I should be doing class stuff. -__-
