i have a question.

ok i have a question FOR ALL FINAL FANTASY FANS. i just recently saw the 7th film based off of the video game and i am confused. i am no expert at it. ok so neways, elana and the other dude were shot in the beginning right? and i guess later in the film we find out they were tortured to death by Kadaj and his gang at their hideout. then later in the film when the "president" falls out of the building with Kadaj jumping to save the box that had "mother" in it the president was saved by nets. the people who shot the nets across eachother looked exactly like the people on the id cards that Kadaj showed earlier in the film. i really liked Reno and he and Rude were on the highway with explosives right? ok so the bombs exploded. then when the rain fell and healed the people with the geostigma, there was a scene with the "president". the rain healed him and standing around him were 4 people. two looked like the ones who shot the nets to save the "president" and the ones on the id cards Kadaj showed earlier in the film. the other two were Rude and Reno. i am so confused. and i guess my question is WHO DIED AND WHO SURVIVED? please respond. its really bugging me.
