open cut (second book)

Friday was the worst day ever at school, discretion day ( ugh) luckily for me josh did all the work while i told him what to do. After school Luka and i headed over to his place for the rest of the weekend, when we were driving it was pouring snow, and the roads were slippery, not for Luka of coarse he just kept speeding like a mad man. When we got home i decide to have a snow ball fight with my vampire, bad move, he creamed me majorly, i lay in the snow wet and cold as he stood over me and laughed.

“i’ll be getting you back...once i’m able to keep up to your speed” he laughed again and pick me up and threw me over his shoulder and carried me to his room, he gave me a pair of my sweats that i left here along with one of his sweat shirts. After i changed we went down stairs to watch a movie with Luka. The wind Howled as the trees danced in the windy snowy night. Luka and I were home with his dad and brother, Danika and Luka’s mom Rebecca were out hunting . Luka and I were watching some weird movie , but nothing else was on accept for Telitubbies. His Dad was up stairs in his was up stairs in his study like always. I lay my head on Luka’s hard cold chest as his frosty hands dragged up and down my back causing me to shiver in his arms . It was a perfect moment for once in a long time I wasn’t thinking about collages or school work all my thoughts and focus was on Luka. Then the perfect moment was ruined, my stomached had spoken, I ignored it as it growled louder and louder.

“Are you hungry?” he asked

“my stomach seems to be”

“there’s vegetables in the frig if you want nothing really to eat”

“yea that’s fine, when we go back to my place later I’ll eat” I got up and started to go over to the kitchen when Luka stopped me.

“wait your going to have to use a knife” I rolled my eyes

“I know how to use a knife Luka, just don’t startle me” he sighed

“Just…be careful please”

“yes dear” I said annoyed I was getting tired of him telling me to be careful, I knew I had to be because my life depended on it, I knew if I wasn’t Luka my end up killing me . I went to the frig and took out some vegetables and brought them over to the sink where I washed them, I took a peering knife and began to peel a carrot. I saw Luka entering the kitchen at the corner of my eye and sighed I knew he was coming to supervise me.

“I don’t need supervision Luka im not five years old” I said to him

“Yes I fully aware how old you are I just don’t trust you with a knife”

“gee thanks, so much for a trusting relationship” I mumbled Luka laughed as the lights went out, I jumped at the sudden loss of light and while jumping I sliced my figure.

“AH shoot” I dropped the knife and griped my figure as the light turned back on .

“are you okay are you bleeding?” he asked I looked at my hand and I saw blood dripping down the side of me figure and I opened my hand to see blood in the tiny deep cut, I ran my figure under ice cold water.

“yes I’m fine tiny cut but deep!” I didn’t hear Luka responed I turn around and he was gone.

“Luka?” he didn’t responded my heart pounded where did he go? I thought I turned back around I looked in the window and see Luka standing in the door I turn around and to see his eyes blacker than ever his eyes were filled with hate and lust, he walked toward me slowly as I walked into a corner Smart Adrina. Luka glared at me with hate he had never looked at me like that before ever.

“Luka” I whispered his blood lust filled eyes , looked at my neck, I felt sweat pouring off my forehead I knew this was my fault , I knew he hadn’t of fed in a while, I should have been more careful. Luka and I were face to face now, I closed my eyes because I couldn’t look at him anymore. I felt terrible that I did this to him, I felt his icy figures tracing my lips, his touch gave me goose bumps and froze my skin.

“I’m sorry” he whispered his voice was soft but dark, I felt his frosty lips on mine as he kissed me forcefully, he removed his lips causing mine to sting. I opened my eyes slowly expecting to see black eyes but he was gone, I looked around glued to my spot I was too scared to move, my heart beated, I felt a cold breath on my neck and I turned and no one was there. Luka was hunting not like he really need to, I was pulled into an iron grip his icy arms snaked around my waist and held me against his chest, he smelled my neck and gently brought his lips to my neck. I felt his hand on my hip my breath and heart beat started to speed up again he brought his lips to my ear his cool breath breathing on my ear.

“I’m sorry” he whispered again I closed my eyes thinking he was going to bite me. I felt his lips touch my skin I waited for the razor sharp teeth to sink into my soft neck. Than his iron grip loosened I fell onto the floor I look up to see Tristan looking down at me, his eyes filled with fear and sadness, I looked behind me and saw Luka being held down by john , his face was monstrous , his eyes looked at me hungrily and hate. Luka tired to break through his father’s iron grip growling.

“Luka no stop” John whispered a deep growl came from Luka’s thought and flung John off of him, I scurried of the floor and into Tristan’s arms and he wrapped his arms around me to protect me from Luka trying to get to me.
“Tristan give her to me!” Tristan shook his head and held me closer john grabbed Luka and put him into a head lock than pinned him down, He growled louder.

“LET ME GO I NEED HER!” he yelled

“GOD SAKE TRISTAN GET HER OUT OF HERE!” yelled John Tristan picked me up and bolted out of the kitchen vampire speed and outside to the coldness.

“Put me down Tristan I can walk” I snapped he put me down as I crossed my arms for warmth

“Here’s your jacket I grabbed it on the way out” he said handing it to me.

“Thank-you” I said taking the jacket and pulling it over my arms and zipping it all the way up to my neck, my hands were shaking as I put my face into them, I was traumatized I never saw Luka ever act that way… how do you respond to that?

“Are you okay?” he asked I didn’t respond he sighed and put his arm around my shoulder. “it’s not your fault you know your only human” I sighed in annoyance.

“That’s my problem Tristan…I am only human” I say dully as I wiped the tears from my eyes, I look at my figure and it was already starting to scab, I sighed “I’m hurting him…I caused this to happen”
“It’s not, it is Luka’s he knows better he knows he has to fed around you!”

“yes I agree but I still did this…. I just wish I was like him, to be a vampire than that way none of these stupid shanigions would happen” he didn’t say anything he just sat there staring into space.

“I don’t know what to say, or how to feel towards that….do you really want to be one of us? You saw what happens to us when we see someone that appealing to us…”

“for Luka I would do anything”

“I just don’t know what to tell you” I hugged him.

“don’t worry I’m just venting” I apologized

“don’t worry, what happened anyways?” he asked I showed him my figure he raised his eye brows in confusion.

“over a tiny cut?” he asked I nodded

“it set him off I guess”

“he must have been really bad for him to attack you over a tiny cut”
“its healed right now before it was really deep and lots of blood” I explained

“it’s still not your fault “ he said again I felt really sick I wish he would just stop telling me “it wasn’t my fault” when I knew perfectly well it was my fault if I was careful none of this would of never of happened and I would still be with Luka…why am I a stupid human?

“what are you thinking Adrina?” he asked I shrugged

“”what’s going to happen in the future…Luka is going to acted so weird around me now” I whispered he chuckled as he looked up at the sky.

“yes that’s Luka for you” I sighed

“can I ask you a question” I asked

“yea sure”

“how bad is it? Like my blood to him? has it always been this way?” I asked him

“recently, it has been bad but when you first starting seeing Luka it wasn’t as bad but bad if that makes sense but as he got closer to you your blood got stronger, more powerful and tempting for him and hes been out of control ever since….” Tristan told me

“you just proved my point!” I said to Tristan he looked at me with confusion.

“what did I just prove?” he asked

“that it was my fault” he rolled his eyes and took me by my shoulders and lightly shook me his eyes wide and big his lips in a hard straight line.

“GOD DAMN ADRINA IT”S NOT YOUR FAULT! YOUR HUMAN! It is not your fault that you are appealing to us so stop saying its your fault because it really isn’t your fault” I looked at him with wide eyes Tristan has never spoken to me this way I looked away not going to respond to him.

“look it really isn’t your fault , but Luka knows better, and it’s not his fault either” I didn’t respond I just kept looking at my cut figure, I heard the front door squeak open I looked over my shoulder to see john coming out of the house.

“where’s Luka?” asked Tristan

“hunting”

“Alone are you crazy?”

“no I’m not crazy he just left after he calmed down you better hurry to catch up with him” without a word Tristan vanished and left me and his Dad alone on the front porch my head throbbed my stomach hurt.

“Are you okay?’ he asked me I shrugged not really knowing what to say to be honest it was a stupid question.

“he’s going to be fine Adrina I promise you… he may be a bit on edge for a bit but he will be fine!’

“He’s going to hate him self and hate what he is more than ever, I just wish he would accept it and move on I love him for who he is not what he is” he sighed

“I hate what I am, so dose my wife, Tristan and Danika this life we live in wasn’t a choice some one gave it to us and we are monsters, murders we kill and I don’t balm Luka for trying and protecting you from us” he said.

“like I said I love him for who he is not what he is and I love you guys too and I don’t see the monsters in you guys, I see the people that I love and that are close to my heart” I said honestly he laughed

“Adrina you surprise me you know I really underestimated you” John said I raised my eye brown at him and laughed.

“I surprise all but what made you underestimate me?”

“everything from the past year that you knew about us, most people, ‘normal’ people would of taken off so fast, wouldn’t believe it or would be so scared to even be around us, but you nothing not a tad bit afraid you. Been hunted by vampires, was attacked by one, dated a vampire without knowing and suriverd to tell the tale im just surprised that you hung around so long I thought by now you would of left him” I laughed everything he had mentioned was true it made me laughed because the reason why I hung around was because I loved him and I felt… normal around them I could really be myself, but the damage was done, I cause him so much pain that made him go crazy.

“I just want him happy” I whispered he chuckled

“that’s what Luka wants for you as well happiness” bright car head lights pull into the drive way who was here? I recognized the car it was a Porsh, Danika and Rebecca stepped out of the vehicle and came towards us.

“Adrina are you alright?” asked rebbeca I rolled my eyes I was tried of people asking me that.

“I’m just fine” I replied dryly

“he went hunting right” John nodded “good he really needs to learn to hunt when he needs to but anyways”

“its not his fault I’m alive and breathing, I can’t imagine how he feels right now so please don’t say it was his fault”

“Rina the point is he put you in danger—“

“I’M ALIVE AREN’T I?” I yelled Rebecca’s eyes were wide but soft “don’t you see I don’t care about myself my main concern is Luka and only him” her eyes still wide I felt bad for yelling at her I looked down, “sorry I yelled” I apologized she smile at me as if I had done nothing wrong.

“it’s fine hun I understand your frustration, I know he’s all you care about, but some one needs to take care of you too” I didn’t responded at this point I was tired and fed up I wanted to go home and to see Luka.

“you want me to take you home?” asked Danika I nodded as she helped me up I said good bye to John and Rebecca they assured me everything would be fine. We got into the car I didn’t even have time to put on my seat belt as she bolted out of the driveway and few down the bumpy unpaved road.
“Jezz slow down” I panicked she laughed “what’s with you vampires and speeding?” I asked she laughed and went down from 150 km/h to 80km/h.

“better?” she asked I nodded as I relaxed against the window, the bumpy road soon turn to a sooth and calm road as soon as the car stopped rocking speedyconzals took off down the street again.

“Slow down you crash I die remember?” she rolled her eyes and went back to 80 km/h “thank you”

“doesn’t Luka speed with you?” she asked

“yea when he feels adventerous” I responed she didn’t say anything back the car ride was quite my head was swarming with thoughts about what would happen next I was so scared of the future. She pulled into my drive way.

“thanks…please call me if u hear from him” I asked it almost sounded like I was bagging.

“don’t worry you will, he will be fine and so will you…good night Rina”

“good night” I whispered as I got out of the car and went inside and up to my room for a un restless night.
