Do not make me repeat myself, for it only gives me pain,
My blood flows from my fingers whilst i stand out in the rain.
I sit around and ponder the wonders of our lives,
Watching tears from mothers, daughters and of wives.
Standing by a grave, the writing worn and thin,
I see some more blank graves, of the war they did win.
We saw not the results of our efforts, fights and worth,
Now our bodies decay beneath the earth.
Remember those that fought, for you whom they died,
This peace that you live, our lives did glorify.
So bring us flowers, forget-me-nots, and remove all the weeds,
Honour us, remember us, the fathers of peace's deeds!
